~ SCATTERBRAINED POST ~

Before we talk about relationships and how interesting they are, I thought I would share these little boots with you.  Ok...so they are not all that little, size 8 to be exact, but think how many flowers can be planted in them this Spring!  Good idea, not original but HEY!  Still a good idea.  I wonder how they do that.  A few rocks, some gravel, perhaps some of that foam...oh wait, Tootsie would know.  That woman is brilliant with it comes to this stuff...
So..what do you think.  Just $1.00 at a garage sale a few weeks ago.  I forgot to show them to you.  I think it was the only thing I bought that day if I remember right.
Cute?  I sat them on the front porch next to the fountain.  I hope you like them.
Rose covered ones would have been nice..but these are RED and fit right in.

They make me smile every time I step out onto the front porch.  :) Yeah...like this..  :):)

My children are watching my diet...can you imagine being made to eat this gorgeous salad.  I am NOT a salad lover (chocolate bread pudding is more my..um..taste) but I ate every single drop of this..and not a whimper out of me!  Thanks kids!  (Courtesy of Jammin' Bread Bakery, bless their hearts!)  My eldest son and his wife own it....so..am I lucky or not..  :)

Would you just look at how earnestly eldest Granddaughter is listening to her Grandma out here in California.
LOVE that Skype thingy!  Will Kristy hate this picture I took of her?  ..oh probably.  But she'll get over it.
She takes life in stride...and I love that about her!  Imagine.  She is the oldest of the 14 Grands.
Hugs to you Kristy!  Grandma loves you and misses you.

I wanted to chat about how amazing relationships are...and I had one certain one in mind.  Later.

Hugs and love,
Mona

Sheesh...I get sidetracked SO easily! :)

Be sure and don't let any water collect in those pretty boots or you'll have misquotes chewin' on your toes! Heeehehehe!

Your sweet granddaughter looks quite intent on your words. She knows a good thing when she hears it!

God bless and have an amazin' weekend beautiful Mona!!! :o)

  4. Rocks or styrofoam peanuts will work, any thing to help the plant drain.

I would be wearing those bad babies in this mud.

  5. The boots are terrific and using them as planters is inspired! Course, they are adorable just as boots too....ummmm, I can wear an 8 (with a little kleenex stuffed in the toes)....just in case you decide not to "plant" them!!

  11. Oh Mona! I loved this scatterbrained post - even though you'd not specifically mentioned the one relationship you'd intended covering here, you did touch on a few...your son & DIL, your granddaughter and your daughters :)

I love salad and the one you'd had to eat looked yummy! Why are you 'dieting?' You look perfect just as you are!

Your patio/porch garden is so beautiful, Mona. Your plants are the picture of glowing health! And I think the boots fit right in! Don't forget to make a couple of drainage holes in the soles before you plant them up :)

Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment on my blog, Mona - I really am thrilled to know my posts bring you much pleasure!!!

    Hugs,

  20. Hello Mona~I could use those boots right about now. The Pacific Northwest as had a few unusual snow falls for this time of the year.
Looks like you've got a fun plan making them into a unique home for your flowers, hope you'll show what the final outcome is.
    Sweet wishes,

  21. Thanks for sharing your great boots find, and the planters idea sounds quite novel. Please do a post when they are blooming, Mona. As for a scattered post - we all have days like this and that's part of the fun at times.

  22. Grandma, That picture is terrible with a capital T. I was in my jammies and my disaster of an office is right there for all to see. You even knew I wouldn't like it. You little old lady you. *exasperated sigh* You know I can't be upset about it but seriously. There wasn't a better shot? ;)

    Love you to pieces.

  23. These boots are too cute! I like them just standing there. I had some little girl ones, I found in the goodwill. I just stood them in my garden. They only lasted one season in the sun.
They faded and cracked. I hope to find another pair. I put rocks in the bottom of mine, and then fake flowers! lol
