Fool that I am, I am joining Marty's Cloche party at A STROLL THRU LIFE.
You see, I am only doing this because I want to be where the action is..and I really could not think of anything to blog about..EXCEPT THE HEAT! Yeah! THE HEAT and who wants to hear about the HEAT! So...
I put my tiny faux cake in my sweet Princess House (VERY old) cake holder..I know, I know, it's NOT a cloche..but..I broke my big cloche and the only real one I have has a crack in it!
I really do like my cake saver. And..it's sort of "cloche" like. Sort of...
Now THIS is a cloche. Just a VERY small cloche...so..you know...here it is... (works for me!)
Ok. Now, small or not, this is another REAL cloche. And, yes, yes, you have probably seen it. But I was desperate here!!
I gave myself an A for effort. How's that for confidence! (...that I don't feel!)
Lovin'hugs!
Mona
It is a cloche if you make it one! They are lovely. olive♥
ReplyDeleteThe closest I can get to cloche is Tupperware!
ReplyDeleteLove it girl and up until 2 years ago I never heard of a cloche ha ha!! then I started seeing them all over Rate my Space and had to have one...but they were real hard to find in Calif at that time...Now I see them all over some very $$$ for this old gal...I ove the Princess house I use to love their partys...Hugs and smiles to ya Mona...from one old dame to another Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteI give you an A for adorable, Mona. Your creations are beautiful. That is one of nmy favorite cake domes from Princess House...Christine
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting a cloche but not enough to spend big money. They remind me of simpler times. Yours are lovely. Happy clocheing...
ReplyDeleteMona, I believe your cake dome more than qualifies! Love the faux cake- so pretty and colorful. I like the use of your doilies to accent the cloches. I had planned on using one in my dining room cloche, but I rushed and forgot before I took pics. That's what I get for waiting til the last minute to make them up. I've spent the past few days out yard sale shopping! LOL
ReplyDeleteProcrastinator, is what I've been....
Stay cool- I know what you mean about the heat! We have the humidity, though, and that makes it so much worse. ICK We should get rain overnight and tomorrow- but it doesn't cool off- it only gets more humid.
hugs, Sue
Princess House!! I have several items still that I purchased years and years ago!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the small cloches too!
I'm in the Sacramento area and it's in the triple digits here too for the next three days . . I guess we won't be going to the state fair this weekend, LOL
Thank you for stopping by!
xxoo
I think you get an A+ !!! They are all beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
I do not have one cloche. You did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteI simply have to get one or two of those pretend cakes. They are so adorable under the cloche!
ReplyDeleteI´m looking for something like that (how do You say that word? Like klok?) because I found an old birds nest this spring. It´s so cute and tiny and would fit perfect in a cloche.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day now!
Christer.
Your little cake is cute, lovin' the polka dots on the cupcake cloche!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sweet Friend,
ReplyDeleteI give you an A++++++++++++++ on those lovely photos. You are certainly a very creative, artistic young woman. (o:

ReplyDeleteI will give you an A also! Yes - the cake dome qualifies. :D
ReplyDeleteLove them Mona! I adore the little cake...so pretty!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

Hi Mona,
ReplyDeleteTo me a cloche is anything you can display little treasures or goodies under, whether it's made out of glass, wire, etc. So I think the cake holder was an excellent choice :-) They all look beautiful...great job :-) Have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs and Smiles,
♥Ana
Mona, you got an A in my book. Your cloches and non-cloches are displayed so sweetly. A cake cover is a cloche by definition. I use an old cheese dome and call it a cloche. Love your blue and white dishes too.
ReplyDeleteHi Mona, your cloches are wonderful....so, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt is hot, huh? Ugh.
Have a blessed weekend.
Hugs, Barb ♥
Hey Mona, thanks for stopping by my blog. It's so nice that we have so much in common. We can be pretend twins. I actually do have a twin sister, so you would fit right in! I think a cake plate can be a cloche, especially when it has a cake in it. It looks so real. I just love cakes and cupcakes. Everything is lovely!! Take care.
ReplyDeleteG'morn, Mona ~ Your cloches are lovely, the display inside each are very pretty ... I also LOVE the white table your just painted & the plate on it.
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful treasures, I so enjoy your sharing them with us.
Have a beautiful weekend, my friend.

Your cake dome is a perfect cloche. I love your cake too. YOur small ones are so pretty and you've created such lovely displays. You did good and you get an A+ from me. Thanks so much for joining the party. You're totally the best. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteMona, gorgeous displays! I'm happy to see you joined the party-have a great weekend!

I love everything...especially the fun you have in your every day life! ♥
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I especially like the little one with the nest.
ReplyDeleteJust darling sweet Mona. It wasn't until I started bloggin' I knew what the heck a cloche was. Have fun girl...party on.
ReplyDeleteYa have yourself a delightfully blessed weekend!!!
From one faux cake lover to another, I just had to become a follower of yours. Your cloches are beautiful, but I am partial to nests....love it, Char
ReplyDeleteLove all your cloches! Cake or small! They are great! So cute to have a faux cake! I love it! Thanks for stopping by and your kind comments!
ReplyDeleteI think you did a wonderful job..everything is so pretty! The faux cake looks especially appealing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for having me by to visit...
Lynette
Mona, put me on the list of "no cloche" bloggers. I only have the cover from my cake stand similar to yours.
ReplyDeleteYour displays are beautiful, however I cannot have fake food around - makes me start a crazed search for the real thing. I do have memories of sinking my teeth into mom's wax and plastic fruits (as a young child).:-)
I love that faux cake. Did you make it? that is the kind of cake I need under my cake saver - -0 calories. In Blogville, all of these photos qualify as cloches (after all, I used upside down glasses and called them cloches). laurie
ReplyDeleteYes, you do get an "A" for effort and the little faux cake is absolutely darling. Enjoyed your tiny cloches also but I think it must be difficult to find something to put in them that will fit.
ReplyDeleteoooh. Sweet little dessert cloches!! Any left for me? =))
ReplyDeleteSo appreciate your visit and sweet words about my lantern nest cloche.
It was very fun to do. And you know I love unique! =)

Definately an A...I just love those little cloches...and they are not too easy to find!!
ReplyDeleteHi Mona, Your cloches are lovely and the faux cake and cupcake are adorable. I have the same cake plate and dome which I inherited from my mother. I never thought to use it for the cloche party...well, next time. Thanks for your visit and sweet comment.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sherry
Ug, yes the HEAT! You did great. My fav. is the cute cupcake and the polka dots. Adorable post.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on all three! So many people have used the faux cakes and cupcakes and I think they are so cute. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh, how pretty everything looks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blog! I am just getting my cloche party rounds made..;) I love all of yours! You did a fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteI also understand your feelings about facebook! I have an acct. but never get on let alone post anything on it! Just not for me! But it is a great way to stay in touch with old friends.
I'll be back here again! Nancy
