~DANCING AS FAST AS I CAN..

Yes, I can bake and this pies proves it..but..I seldom do it anymore.

Within the past couple of weeks, there has been another step added to the dance.
I'm not exactly running out of breath..but it's rather taken my breath away..just a bit.

Before I go on, I recently realized something.  My computer ..or rather my provider of the internet, was down, and I got so much done that it actually, truely,  amazed me.
I thought that by just posting less, visiting less, that I would get more done..in the back of my mind I knew the computer was there.
It wasn't just the computer I was addicted to, it was all of you out there.  Women I could share with, who seemed to appreciate what I loved doing the most.
Homemaking
Exchanging ideas
Sharing your everyday lives with us...to a certain extent.
...actually a wonderful world that I am sure all of you have discovered to some degree.

I LOVED it.
I didn't want to do anything else...and in the process of being stuck to my chair a lot..things were taking a back seat but I didn't realize it.  What I did do, was things I could take photo's of and share.
Not scrubbing the toilets, etc. (NO cleaning lady once a week in this household, though heaven knows I'm beginning to wish for it.)

My new....Kindle Fire

On my desk, out on the patio, in bed, cuddled up on the living room couch, on the front porch..and yes, you could take it to the restroom with you, if were of a mind to do that..
I would tell you I wouldn't do that..but it's just not true!  I would.  I did! :(

Newspapers, movies, books, magazines....
etc. etc. etc.
I cannot even begin to imagine what PH and my late spouses would think of how quickly technology is speeding along.
And now?  I am already thinking of an Ipad.  Yeah...now how's that for learning a lesson?  Not...too good, I know.  I have been watching movies, as in the above photo, Wuthering Heights and more ...in every spare moment.
Downton Abby, Mad men...you know?

In short, I've been unfaithful to you.  LOL
Whee!  I feel SO much better.
I guess I needed ...well...a little confession is good for the soul they say.
THEY are right!

Love and hugs,
Mona   :)

  1. My breath was taken away by that pie! Pie..oh my! So pretty! I know what you mean about the computer...my backside has suffered by sitting too much at night. I stand all day and I like the time to sit and read and post..but a girl must do more...so I hope to give atleast an hour or more a night to exercise and not computing...so I'm hurrying here! Have a great week!

  2. I understand the dilemma of wanting to look around the world wide web, read posts, comment,.. and the hours seem to vanish. I try to limit myself to a certain amount of blogs I can follow in a day otherwise that is all I would do and the house would fall to pieces more than it already has! haha. And I'm glad you got a lot done and your pie looks great! Wish I had a piece now as I'm scrolling through FaceBook and Craigslist and researching chicken houses....

  3. That pie looks so yummy. I can almost taste it. Wish I had a piece of it right now.

Sorry I haven't been around lately, but this last month has been a difficult one for me. I am doing quite a a bit better now and we are trying to get ready to go on a trip, leaving a week from today. We are planning to be gone six weeks!! I hope I can hold up. We are driving.....to Salt Lake for my family reunion on my mom's side, Indiana for Dick's high school reunion, Ontario Canada to visit with friends, down through Ashland Ohio to visit with Kathy (Yaya)and Donna,(I'm dying to meet them both)then back to Salt Lake to meet our new great grand-daughter, then to Reno for The Four Freshmen Society convention (we are avid Four Freshmen fans), to Lake Tahoe to visit our son, who has lived there for many years and finally home. We will be back Oct 10!! I still can't believe we are actually going, since I have not been much of a traveler these past few years. Dick says it is his Bucket List and I can it my Last Hurrrah.

I only post once a week and I hope I can keep doing it while away. I'll just have to remember to not let my Tuesdays go by without some kind of a post.

Take care, my newest blogging friend. I will try to visit more often, but I don't get on the computer every day like most people that blog do. I'm lucky to make it twice a week.

Yes, technology is incredible. I have always said how amazed my mom would be to come back now and see what changes have been made since she died in 1962, I own a kindle but don't want anything to do with Dick's Iphone. I do well just to blog.

  6. I am just like you ~ or maybe I should say like you were. I too have been addicted to my computer. When I am not working (which is always) or looking after my Mom, you will find me at the keyboard. Things don't get done around very quickly either. I have to limit myself because if I didn't the laundry and countless other things would not get done. Now you have introduced me to Kindle and I think I really need one. Oh no ~ another addiction! And I thought my addiction to dark chocolate was bad enough!!

    Big Hugs,
    Susan and Bentley

  8. The 'e' bug has you . . . now all you have to do is decide how much of yourself you are going to give to it.

    Believe me . . . . . . I could spend HOURS on my iPad.

    Enjoy and pace yourself. SMILE!

  12. I agree with you about time vanishes and things don't get done when one is involved with the internet and modern technology. I balance this by not having a television set, or mobile phone, or any other form of technology which is hand held.
    Lovely pie by the way.
Hope you manage to manage your time but that you don't stop blogging!

  13. I think it's great that you are adjusting to the technology. I think it's great you have a Kindle Fire and plan on an ipad...Good for you! I have a basic Kindle and LOVE it and yes, it goes everywhere with me...even the bathroom. And again, Yes your pie looks delicious!

  14. Love the pie, and you could make me one anytime - looks better than anything I would do :) I also have a kindle, but not the kindle fire, although thinking about it. I was just looking at them last week thinking about upgrading and now that I see yours, perhaps I will get on that now? I totally understand about spending way too much time in chair on internet, so I limit myself - for I do enjoy having a life outside technology. I gotta give myself a break, now and then and breathe in more of what this wonderful world has to offer us and I do not mean the "TECH" side. This is why I am not on computer a lot. Summer is meant to be out of doors, for winter is very long here. Love your blog Mona and enjoy your putterings immensley.

I'm addicted, too....just not sure for how much longer. I'm almost at 1000 posts and in Jan will start #5 year of blogging. I want to do other things besides being GLUED to my chair!

LOVE YOU GIRL. Hope you are well!

  17. Mona, yes technology can be so addictive and I can understand how so many other things can get neglected. Happens to me as well. Some days I make it a practice not to even turn on the PC until other things have been completed. today, I am waiting for a delivery and have an excuse not to run the vacuum or else i would not hear the UPS truck. We were out yesterday and so this is a return trip for an item we have to sign for delivery. I have had an iPad for well over a year and have great fun reading the news, watching Netflix, playing word gems, trying not to read too many emails :-) Enjoy yourself, dear friend...you deserve fun in your life.
Pie with a cup of fresh coffee?

  18. Same here, Mona, on the "not getting other things done...." Every now and then, I just make a bunch of short posts, put them on pre-schedule and try my best to stay off the computer until my house is clean again.
I am about to start a re=do of a guest bedroom and am going to allow myself 1 hour on the computer a day until I get that room all finished.
Have fun with your new toys...:))

  19. We have been so busy these past few months! I started to like not posting everyday and now I'm just going to post some and drop by to visit some folks. Facebook has caught my attention for a while and cleaning house has, too. Hang in there, kiddo. See ya when I see ya.
