This is my tiny great grand daughter..Emily. She is the first grandchild of my oldest son, Patrick and his wife Cheryl. But...this post is not about her. It was a photo I came across in my files..and I thought it was interesting. An unusual shot.
I won't be posting for awhile. I had an unusual Monday. Went to the dentist (shudder!) and thought I was just going to drop off paperwork..but...they had me scheduled for SURGERY!
I had NO idea! I imagine it was a first for some to see a grown gray haired woman begin to cry as they led her off for surgery! I had to have some teeth pulled on the upper right side of my mouth and decided to have implants instead of having to wear a partial. So...
I now have the posts in and it will be another six months before the teeth can be put in place.
In the meantime I have a grapefruit size swelling on that side of my face..on antibiotics, and Vicodin. It didn't swell for two days and this morning I woke up to a stranger in the mirror.
Not feeling so great. Stayed in bed much of the day with an upset tum.
Life. Yep...this will pass soon. I has to because Howard is scheduled for surgery this coming week... It never rains but it pours! *smile* OUCH! Hurts to smile!
I shall return!
Hugs,
Mona
I´m so sorry for You! I would have made the same desicion but it´s no fun with the pain and swelling. Take care of You now!
ReplyDeleteIs it the knee surgery Howard will have now? Tell him it´s going to be great after a while, I know plenty of people that have had that surgery, but it will take some time before he is back to normal again!
You are both in my prayers.
Christer.
Miss Mona,
ReplyDeleteWe are so sad that you are in pain. We wish we lived close by, Mom would bring us over to take care of you. And we would spoil you - and give you lots of honey.
Please be quiet and take good care of yourself. We will miss you while you recover, but we certainly understand.
Blessings,
Prudence & Sissy
And OF COURSE, Mom (she sends lots of hugs)
All the pain and swelling will go away and you'll be so glad you selected implants instead of a partial. You'll never have to worry about the damn partial fitting right!
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself!
Jane
feel better soon and know you are in our prayers!
ReplyDeleteBless your heart! I'm impressed girl, your on Vicodin and can still type and make sense. I hurt for you but soon the pain will pass and you'll be so thrilled with your new choppin' implants.
ReplyDeleteI'm sayin'...when it rains it pours. I'll certainly keep Mr. Howard in my prayers. Please keep us updated sweetie.
God bless you beautiful Mona and take care of yourself! :o)
What a surprising segue to an ordinary day!! I've never had that done, but any kind of DS is an invasion of your system, and you'll need to rest and take care of YOU for a bit.
ReplyDeleteAnd I, too, cannot fathom how you even sat up straight, let alone posted such a coherent, inclusive piece with pain and pain-killers in your body.
Please just rest and sleep sweetly and think of how doubly-gorgeous you're going to be with that new smile!!!
YUK! All I can say is ignorance is bliss. At least you didn't have time to worry about it. I do so hope that you are feeling better. I HATE going to the dentist. It scares me to death. Sounds like you made the right decision with the implants though. I wouldn't think it would be much fun to have a partial.
ReplyDeleteOh poor sweet Mona! I hope you feel better soon and get back that beautiful smile! Take it easy and rest...everything else will wait! I'll keep you in my prayers! Blessings...Diane ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts are with you, Mona!
ReplyDeleteBless your heart. I hope you both will be fine very soon! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteHubby was in to the oral surgeon Tuesday and had a post put in.. He took it quite well... not a big baby about it like I would have been.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a quick healing process.
Di
Hi Mona...Hope you are feeling better real soon. I'll keep you both in my prayers. My prayer list is so long. Balisha
ReplyDeletePS This was the title of the very first post of my blog---I didn't finish it and it's still hanging around back there in draft form.
ReplyDeleteI DO hope that you didn't drive yourself to the office---they always tell you that you'll need someone to drive you home. I remember that Chris slept all the way home from Memphis after having two wisdom teeth extracted a couple of weeks after our wedding.
Mona, Here is wishing you all the luck in the world for your healing and for Howard's surgery, too. Time heals, trust me- Mr. S's ordeal was a dilly!! But he is doing so much better. Prayers will be heard from many, of that I am sure.
ReplyDeletehugs, Sue
Just think how beautiful you will end up looking. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh, you poor dear. Last summer I had 2 implant posts put in. It was miserable. It was my bottom right gum teeth. It only took about 6 weeks before I got my bridge put on them. I think the bill hurt more. But it's been so worth it. I'd do it again in a heart beat. Hang in there sweetie.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry you are not feeling great! I think you will really like your implants though. I don't have htem but my brother does and you can't even tell they are not real.
ReplyDeleteSure hope Howard is ok too! I'll be keeping you both in my prayers.
Hugs,
Joanne
Oh Mona! I am so sorry to hear that you are in pain. I hate the dentist...I always cry...and I need to go too ;) We'll be right here when you come back. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteGentle hugs,
Dena
I hope you feel better with each passing day!! Howard too!!
ReplyDeleteEmily is adorable! I'm so sorry to hear about the dental work you had to have. I would've cried too! I'm a baby when it comes to dental work of any kind, but I don't have great teeth, so I've spent alot of time in the dental chair. In fact, I've often said I'm pickier about my dentist than I am my doctor, because I see him far more often.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're feeling better soon and also that Howard's surgery goes well.
Blessings,
Marcia
Sending many prayers your way....you are such a special blogger and your site always brings a smile to my face...
ReplyDeleteAh, now I see why your face was swollen! and I'm going to the dentist myself tomorrow. Sometimes the cure is worse than the condition and you pay for it too!! Oh my, life is hard sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your face goes down soon.
Blessings, Star
Oh you poor thing, I had no idea! I have been very behind in my reading and my GOSH..you are going through just TOO much right now. Hope you're feeling better and also hope your husband's knew surgery went well.
