It seems once I get started with the spray paint...I keep finding things I want to get done..and I can't stop.

So..the bar stools are finally done. In black! What is good about spray paint, is that when you are tired of that can always change. The way I figure it, by the time they get back to "stripping" everything again...I won't care. *smile*

This is the way the stools looked. They came in a sort of light oak...and I have hated them from the beginning. I don't think I will buy furnature on ebay again! Not a great experience.

After living with them for two years...they are now black. Yeah. I like them.

Now I know everyone will be nice and say they look great..but I have to ask anyway. You are all so matter what you will say they look nice.

Di will say, "well, if YOU like them, that's all that counts!"
Now you KNOW darn well that it isn't all that counts! We want EVERYONE to like them.

I cannot seem to get away from the French Country thingy in the kitchen and family room...but the living room...a different story.

I am off to bed. Nice Day.

Yep..sending more love and hugs.

  1. From what I can see on these photo´s You´ve done as a great job on these chairs as You have on the table!

I´m the opposite of You here, I love blond furnitures, preferable pine :-)
    Have a great day now!

  2. I REALLY DO like your black chairs! I love to use black accents. You are making me look around my room here and see if there is anything I would like to spray paint black.
    Good job!

  3. Hi Sweet Friend,

You are so creative. The bar stools are beautiful in black. It certainly gives the kitchen area that French countryside look. Very, very lovely.

Have you spray painted your husband yet or does he move fast enough to stay out of your aim?

  5. Hi Mona! Now I promise that I am not just being NICE, but I really do like those stools painted black!! I am in a spray painting mode too. I did so much painting yesterday that I think there was a cloud of mist hanging over our house. I'm surprised the Environmental Protective Agency didn't come by to check it out!! Have a great Saturday.

  11. I seriously do like these much better in black. They make more of a statement than the plain oak look.

  12. I think it is a great improvement! yup I do!

  13. LOL, well I do like the black, truly. I have to, I spray painted my whole bedroom suite my middle DIL was going to die when she saw it. But as her DH told her...I had to live with it not her.
I like to spray paint cause as you say it's easy to change colors when you get tired of the first one.

  14. Good Morning Mona! I think you did a wonderful job on your stools...they look GREAT! Isn't it amazing what a little paint can do...I need to remind myself of that ;) Have a wonderful weekend.....Maura :)

  15. Hello Mona...I'mmm baaackkkkk:-)
I LOVE the stools painted black. ....and as often happens, you lack of enthusiasm has me enlarging your photos to study your project. Even being blown up and studied, I found them fabulous:-)

  16. Mona! You so silly! I like your stools black! Oh, that didn't sound right did it? :) I like your bar stools painted black, I really do! I'm not just saying it because I adore you. 17. Hello Mona~ I do love how a simple can of spray paint can give a whole new face-lift to any thing it touches. I sure wished it could do the same for my body.
I think your bar stools look marvelous. I can see them adorned with plushy red and white toile chair pads.

    Sweet wishes,

  18. Once a great job dear Mona. I love the updated look you've given the chairs. My whole house is the French Country thing. Hubby just let's me go wild, ya know the whole keepin' mama happy thing. That, and I might be just a little spoiled.

God bless you beautiful lady and have a terrific weekend!!!

  19. if YOU like the chairs that's what counts, but to me they seemed to show off nicer in the black. Our bar stools are lighter colors because they go with our decor, so it's whatever works for y-o-u.

  20. I've got some bar stools I've been thinking of painting too. Yours look very nice. Did you spray paint them, or paint them with a brush? I'd have to do mine white because black wouldn't match.

  21. Ps your little great grand is darling. I didn't realize she was not your grand, but your greatgrand!! WOW

  22. Mona, the black looks great! Good choice as black looks good in most every room. Good job!

  23. Well I do love them Mona and I really mean it! I'm not fond of that light oak look either. It reminds me of the 80s for some reason. I can't wait to get settled in so that I can do some paint jobs...I keep spying my patio table set and thinking of your pretty red change!

  24. Mona ~ Being very upfront & honest ... THEY ARE GORGEOUS! in black. I love them. Maybe I'll do A's in black now sine I am doing everything else black for her.

    Have a beautiful Monday.
    TTFN ~ Hugs, Marydon

  25. Not just being nice and polite here - you definitely did those barstools a service by painting them black!
