~DID SOMEBODY SAY CHERRIES?~

I cannot believe I actually have a set of dishes I use for breakfast...but I do!
When the children were all home..there was one..just one..set of dishes. The second set was for Holidays and special occasions only! Now I have my daughters doing the same thing. Breakfast dishes...I LOVE it!

I hope you can see the little rooster napkins I just bought from Gardners Cottage.
Yes, yes, I use my little coke glasses for juice..but..I mean..we're NOT having company for breakfast..and I like these little glasses! So..it's ok..right? Right?

I really do like these little cherry dishes..but..after I got them I noticed the little spaces in the bands of red and it sort of makes them look as though they are chipped. I am used to it now..but for awhile..it bothered me. Hey..cherries are cherries! I really like them. (now I want roosters! ~smile~

I am just showing this last picture because I wanted you to see that my stools are also painted with cherries. I bought the stools from Penny's and had an artist do them for me. I thought she did a wonderful job and after over five years not a single chip in them.

Just this one last thing. Nothing to do with tablescapes really..but I just love leaving these pretty plates in my cake saver. I use them all the time because they are out and so handy. And..it's kinda pretty too.
All done. ~Smiles~ (Yippee, I did it again...sorta!)

Hugs,
Mona

  8. What a cute set of dishes! I love them, and your napkins.....and the bar stools. How cute it all looks together! You can you not start your day with pep in your step with that cute little scene for breakfast! Are the cherries ripe for picking in Beaumont yet? My mother in law has a cherry tree, so I'm going to see what kind of pie they make this year!

  14. Oh I love your cherry plates, so pretty and they look so cheerful. Now the best idea I have ever seen is storing the plates in the cake saver. That is not only pretty but great storage. I have a big cake saver also, you have just given me a whole new idea and I love it. Hope you don't mind if I copy. Thanks for always showing us such a great space and design. Hugs, Marty

  20. What a fabulous use for the cake saver. I must get one of those for myself. I love the plates and again.....your table is lovely.

We officially can not be friends now because my idea of a "fancy" table is to NOT use paper plates. LOL

  21. LOVE the cherry plates. What a great idea to have "breakfast" plates! And the rooster napkins match so perfectly somehow. You set a VERY inviting breakfast table. How far away did you say you live...?

  26. I love how you store your plates in your cake saver. I have a cake saver that I never use for cake and I need some storage for some smaller plates I just got at the thrift store. Thanks to you, I now know where to store them. Thanks for the idea!!! And I like your cherry dishes. Breakfast plates, that is what I need.

  27. Oh I hope those are new cherry plates and you can tell me where to get them as I must have a set for myself. They are by far the best cherry plates I've seen. I adore them. So please tell me where to get them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you don't tell me you got them years ago and I won't be able to find any now.

Love the idea of putting dishes in the cake plate. I think you may have started a new trend.

  29. Hi Mona, Whew...!
I have been meaning to get back over here and say Hi and answer your question. Time got away from me this past week...:)

Your Red cherry dishes are so pretty! You should link this post up for "Flaunt Your Red" with Miss Nancy at "Southern Lady". It's perfect for it!

The Grape scroll topper I ordered that one from the "Touch Of Class" catalog online.
They have tons of toppers on that site. I just adore a Grape themed kitchen.
Let me know if you get it and where you put it.

Have a wonderful day my friend and thanks for your kind compliments.

    You made my day!
    ~Melissa :)
