This was taken when he was still in the Marine Corp. It's funny how you never know how things will end. You think you have forever but you don't. We thought we would grow old together and I guess we were lucky to have the years we had.
He came home FOUR times. He was always on the front lines so I am grateful for every single one of those 43 years. Every single one of them! I will always miss him.
What a handsome young man he was.

Hi Mona and it is so nice to meet you! Oh, I'm so sorry - as BJ says, he was very handsome and looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me today with your sweet comments.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Isn't that the truth? You think you will have each other forever. So we learned not to take things for granted and enjoy each other everyday. Those little things we fret about really don't matter.
ReplyDeleteThe ones we love so dearly will never be forgotten even when they are not here with us. We still have them in our hearts.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was in Vietnam for three years. Whenever the Bob Hope show would come on we would watch to see if he was in the crowd.
ReplyDeleteWhen he returned to the States he was killed when the car he was driving was hit head on by a drunk driver. I was 10 years old. My brother was 12 and younger brother 4 and sister 3. My mom was heart broken I know. It took me years to get over his passing.
That was 42 years ago and I can remember it like it was just yesterday.
I'm hating my desk at work. It's new but GRAY AND UGLY. A man must have picked it out. I haven't had time to fix 'er up yet.
ReplyDeleteBut It´s fantastic to have 43 years together! Nowdays people seemes to think two years is for ever :-)
