My original title today was "use it or lose it..." NOT good! :) I meant painting...lol..I really did!
See that little foot stool? Well, a long time ago, I bought it from my best friend who was moving away. Well, actually, she and her husband decided to travel full time in their motorhome (never could do that!) and they sold nearly everything they had and this was one of the items. It's good solid wood..and ever since I got it I've been meaning to paint it...some color. I painted it white once...and it got kicked around a lot in my kitchen..and finally...
...this morning when I got up, I decided today would be the day. So sweet husband went off to Home Depot and bought some more red paint...my favorite red!
After I painted it...it seemed to need something...so I got out my little bottles of paint..and found out quickly that I was OUT OF PRACTICE! Yikes! Would you look at that? I can't even paint grass anymore..
...that's a little better..but not much...
...but I kept trying and finally decided to quit while I was ahead.
...and settled for a few daisies. I need LOTS of practice...
That old saying is right..."use it or lose it!" :)
Love and hugs from "ye auld master painter". *giggle*

Hugs,

I think the grass and flowers are completely perfect for your outdoor footstool. Just PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteDi
Love it Mona! I think it's a true treasure.
ReplyDeleteLove the little stool. Yes if you do not paint for a while it is hard to just pick it back up. I know because the other day I wanted to paint and was very unhappy with my design and skills. Oh well you just have to be satisfied with what you have.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great to me, Mona! Love the red!!! Where did that rug come from? I love it, too! Is it an outdoor rug?
ReplyDeleteI love the red! And your daisies are adorable. You haven't lost it at all!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
I love it!!
ReplyDeleteMona....I think it turned out "darling"! ~Hugs, Patti
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Monet, I mean Mona!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, what a precious little stool and a sweet story to go with it!
Now I like your little paintings on the sides! Hope you had a wonderful holiday and are being a good gal! :) I know you are.
Continue to be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
How you do all you do is a mystery to me!! I'd have still been standing there, looking at paint sticks, trying to decide on the color.
ReplyDeleteThat is a SPLENDID red!!! It reminds me of a favorite pair of my first pumps---a shiny, wonderfully cheerful smoooooth soft red, which I just adored for years.
(Now I'd be consigned to paint things in OLD CLOG PINK, I suppose, for I'm a comfortable shoe girl now).
Anyway, I love the wonderful surprises you have for us every day---lovely things to admire and AHHHHHH over.
Hello Monet;)
ReplyDeleteI think it came out adorable. Such a cheerful little stool.

No wonder I can't get a thing from my cupboards...hey if it a flat surface I will have it decorated...Hope all is well in your world today my friend...I better go get my old butt to Candace's house and get her laundry done and cook her some dinner...Love ya girl...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
