~A THING OF BEAUTY...

...is something you have searched for and fits a purpose in your life, no matter how small.

Thanks to Susan @ BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH for hosting this fun event! Go by and peek at the amazing difference a bit of change makes.

I have been looking a while for a good candelabra. Something heavy and solid that I could paint...and Saturday I found it! A bit smaller than I had envisioned..but I love it!

The candles are pumpkin colored instead of Halloween orange and I really like them.
The large pumpkin tureen is a bit large...but..I'm still working on things..just wanted you to see how cute it turned out.

So.. :) do you like it? Too "gothic?" Oh please don't say that! That thought just passed through my mind. Yikes! Do you think so? I really liked it. It's just that your opinion is important. :) No...honest...it is!!!

So..happy Morph Day! :)

Love and hugs,
Mona

  8. Yes, it looks spooky. Like something they'd pickup and carry up the rickety stairs in a haunted house : ))

  9. I love the colors, Mona, especially the pumpkin candles. Our littlest, who is two, got a Box of 96 for her birthday, and she picks up "pumpkin" and says "AWWWWWinge." I say "pump-kin." and she parrots it.

I can't wait til we buy some real ones at the farm market to carve. Babies love to put their hands in the squishy seeds and to peek through the eyeholes into the magic cavern.

  11. Good Morning Mona,
I just love it!! Honestly, when I saw it painted and put on that gorgeous table I gasped it looked so good! You have that touch my dear. I was in New Hampshire once on our way to Maine. New England is so gorgeous isn't it? Neat story about your brother's apple farm, I bet it's so charming. Hugs to you, Cindy

  30. Hi Mona,
Gothic didn't cross my mind at all until you mentioned it, but I don't think it looks gothic at all :-) Love how it all looks on your table. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. It's so nice to meet you.

  35. I think they are perfect. But what do I know. LOL

  36. Definitely NOT Gothic! No need to worry unless you start painting your nails black! LOL! No kidding, I really like your black candelabra and your whole display of pumpkins! Very warm and autumnly!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I really really like it! When the holiday is over and you put it with other things, I am sure that it won't look gothic at all.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's not "gothic" it may only appear that way because you have it grouped with fall and Halloween decor.

Black is great in that it goes with anything. Red candles with gold or silver mini garland (pretty shiny beads and tinsle like) can change it in an instant for the winter holidays.

    Great find!

  43. Very nice. Perfect for Halloween, and very classic! Changing out the candles will change the mood of the candelabra every time, and you could always paint it another color if the mood strikes!

  44. I think it makes for a great Halloween centerpiece!

    Thanks for your visit!
