Thank you to DESIGNS BY GOLLUM. No food..but soon...I promise! At least it's a start!

This morning was Farmers Market day..and off we went at 9 this morning, a bit late..and it was already SO hot I wanted cry...but AFTER I got my fresh veggies and flowers! These are not sunflowers..but I bought some of those also.

Yes..I KNOW these are just cookie cutters below..but there is a bit of a story behind these.
You see, I went to this little store that is a favorite of mine, and no, it's not a Thrift shop. It is one of those places KNOW when you walk in that you can have just ONE thing and it better be something you want badly! I mean like BADLY!

So in I went...(did I tell you they call me by my first name?! Does that tell you anything at all?

A little teapot..short and stout! YES!

After scouring the entire store, I was relieved to find that there was not one single thing I could not live without...and was about to leave when..."ARE those COOKIE CUTTERS?!" Yes, they were. Copper ones..and so beautiful. I LOVED them. so I took three of my favorites and headed for the counter.
It is always...always .... a good idea to look at the price tag...even if they are only cookie cutters!

A big fat apple! I loved the detail..

And, my favorite, this beautiful Autumn leaf! I loved it!
All done. And I had only bought THREE things! NOT!
At the counter I smiled and stacked my goodies there...and she rang them up...and I nearly was $30.00 plus tax! I mean for three cookie cutters!??
OH yes, you bet I will make cookies this year..I have to make use of these little treasures!

These lovely smelling, grundgy primitive candles I bought on ebay. These are wonderful and the price is good. I bought these last year and they are just as wonderful and fresh smelling as last year. I bought six bundles..but am just showing you two of them.

This is some wonderful orange sugar I bought a couple of years ago..and has never been opened. Do you suppose it is still good? It has been stored in a cool place.. so...shall I use it?

I bought these pumpkin cookie cutters a few years ago...and they have never been out of the
My promise..I am going to bake Halloween cookies this year...and I am going to decorate them..and...I am going to SHOW AND TELL!

Ok..'nuff of this.. :)

Love and hugs,

P.S. Better late than never...:)

  1. Okay, I'll hold you to the promise of seeing those cookies!!! lol
I guess it always pays to check out the price first before buying......hope you enjoy the cookie cutters.

  2. Hi Mona,

I hope you enjoy those cookie cutters. I have just been reading some of your older posts. I had to chuckle at the one that said "Thrilling Post". Very witty, and cute. You sound like a great lady, with a great sense of humor. :) I marked you in my favorites! Have a great weekend!

  3. great cookie cutters!!! you will be making the best cookies I'm sure!

  4. You have some GREAT cookie cutters!!

  5. Promises, promises Mona. I want to see some cookies made from your priceless cookie cutters. What a great fun find.

Have yourself one great weekend and enjoy your blessings!!!

  6. Can't wait to see your cookies -- love that teapot!

  7. I love cookie cutters and looked at some today that were $4 each! I thought that was high but maybe I should go back and get them. I love pretty kitchen things and I love to bake! The sugar should be fine since it has been sealed. Enjoy your pretty things! I love the feel of Fall on your blog!

  8. Hi Mona! I'm wandering around before bedtime. I'm very sleepy and may have to turn in early. Didn't sleep well last night. Have a good weekend. Hugs

  9. Oh, I love your new cookie cutters. Some times you just have to splurge and have something totally wonderful. I can't wait to see all your cookies. Hugs, Marty

  10. OOO, I'm in luv with your cute cookie cutters..and you know what...they would look fabulous, hanging by a black and white polka dot ribbon and hang them on your wall, cabinet, just anywhere..they are darling!!

  11. Hi Mona,
Checking with you to see what you are up to !
Went to that store to get something and bought
a cookie cutter as well....the Scotty dog !
Can't wait to make cookies as well ! They will
be worth it in the long run and the copper is
so decorative. They are a great find !

  12. Good Evening Mona. I'm listening to your playslist now. I did have to turn it on myself. Do you think you might have the mute button set on? It's the little horn under the volume bar on the right side.

See I have never even hear of Eva Cassidy and wouldn't have if there was no music on your blog. She has a beautiful voice!

I need to find the lyrics to Red River Valley. I can't quite remember it all now. It's been years since I sang to my kids!

I love your cookie cutters. I guess they cost so much because of the copper, and they look really big compared to the package of pumpkins.
They must make better cookies too!
    Sweet dreams dear,

  13. You are so much like me. You see something you want and up to the cashier you go. Not looking at prices has gotten me into a lot of trouble.

I have lots of cookie cutters. Two big plastic boxes full. I hardly ever make cookies but I love to collect them. The copper ones are the best. But yes they do add up quickly.

Hey, I just thought of a wonderful idea. You can call me up when you bake the cookies and I can come eat them with you. LOL

  14. Suddenly I feel that my new rubber boots for 113 US dollars were fairly cheap :-) :-) :-) But Your new cookie cutters do look great! Perfect for gingerbreads I think!
    Have a great day now!

  15. Hey Mona! I love, love your sweet lift my heart and my mood. I love those cookie cutters...I have a thing for those.

    Hugs, Barb ♥

  16. My mother had her hysterectomy 35 years ago. She told me she didn't know she could ask for pain medication and said it was horrible.

I'm having no pain what so ever. Is that not strange but I'm glad.

Hope all goes well for you. I will be praying for you. Love ya dear!

  17. Hi Mona,
I miss my cookie cutters. I sold them, when I remarried. I want them back... now that I see yours. Show us the cookies!!

  18. OH! I can relate! I've done that before. But they are very pretty cookie cutters.

  19. That little pumpkin plate looks so cute next to the yellow flowers... Gosh I love autumn!

  20. Your flowers are gorgeous. Bake some cookies for me too. I can never make them look the way they are intended to look. Blobs that taste good are pretty much what my decorated cookies are.

  21. You need to frame those little suckers ! LOL . They are really cute though !

  22. I have tones of cookie cutters that inspire me to bake....but I have never ever done it either! lol
good luck and I just know you will bake us something to tease me with!

  23. You make me want autumn even more and i'm usually very patient for the seasons to switch over. I love your fall items. So colorful & primitive. Hugs. Tammy

  24. and I thought I was the only one in the world who can't walk past a Thrift Store (Charity Shop) without going in and buying something! I have had to restrict myself to one day a week!!! and that day is Monday because Monday is always a bit of 'down' day. It cheers me up to go in the thrift store and like you, I always see something I must have.
    Blessed Be, Star

  25. Now you have to show and tell us about your pumpkin cookies before Halloween or maybe Thanksgiving:) I love to bake but cut out rolled cookies are not high on my list as they are labor of love and my family tends to inhale cookies and they are gone in minutes:)

  26. I have been on an unwilling vacation from visiting anyone in blogland and what a nice place to visit as one of my first visits. I have so enjoyed getting caught back up on your blog. I love the fall background. Makes me want to sip some warm apple cider or spiced tea while I read.

  27. My first time to visit here and was absolutely delighted to see my favorite wildflower: coreopsis.

  28. Hello! This is my first time to your blog and it is very fun! I hate to say this, but I have sugars a lot older than that and I use them every year at the holidays, they are kept sealed and go for it! Make some wonderful cookies with your cute cutters and sprinkle away! :)

  29. Really awesome pictures.. I love this.. great work.. I regularly read all your posts and found every time very interesting.. Thanks
