~BLOGGING INSPIRES..YOU BET~

Well...we have already pretty much agreed that blogging can be addicting! But being addicted to something doesn't necessarily need to be a bad thing. It can be inspiring, and I find something to inspire me, lift my spirits and and get my day off to an exciting start.
Sometimes the answers to a situation in life can drop into my lap through blogging. It happens a lot. I never fail to be amazed how fond you can become of people you have never met and never will meet.

It's all wonderful but honestly, I turn to blogging for inspiration...for example to paint my lawn swing...and not get rid of it because it is old and the top has rotted through and the seat is ruined and also split. But I will tell you about that later.
Right now...those darned CLOCHES' are still on my mind. Such cute versatile little items to use to decorate...and so easy to just change! I love it and I'm on the prowl for a few. so...below is one I added. INSPIRED? You bet!

Allidink at A Little Shabby Always Chic inspired me to find a little cupcake stand as I just fell in love with hers. And..besides I wanted a few cloches...and a cupcake cloche was a great start. So..I was a copy cat and took a lesson from my young friend. Smart girl, that Allison!

I got lucky and found this one on ebay for 6.00 and won it! Allison's is much like it, maybe exactly but in blue. That girl has an eye for cute things...let me tell you! AND she gave lessons on how to make those little faux cupcakes...not too shabby...heh heh..and certainly chic!!

This I found on ebay..and I love this lady's way of putting together things of Fantasy...see the little grasshopper looking into the looking glass window at the wing repair going on? And the lovely butterfly? Well, I live in this world of fantasy...so..it appealed to me...
I don't remember the artist...at first I thought it was Rebecca but I am just not sure. I don't think so but I will check and get back to you. Hmmm...am I..buying too much when I can't even remember where I got something? I ...wonder... :)

Garage sale goodies tomorrow...or..maybe my lawn swing.

There are other things I want to talk about...it's my blog and although I love sharing things I get for my home...and seeing yours...actually it isn't entirely what I had in mind when I started my blog. Yes...I wanted to do some of that...of course. I love my home...but mostly I wanted to write.
Haven't you heard that people always tell more to strangers than they do people they know? It's true. Sort of the "beauty parlor thing"..

What has happened is that...my blogging took a turn. How does that saying go? Anything you say, can, and will, be used against you? I ...think about that. A lot. So...after a couple of things happening during this past 6 months...I only write about "things"...not life.
As I said..I like that but...I LOVE to write...and I might get back to doing a wee bit more...if I can work up the nerve. It's not possible for me to not care what people think. That just does not work for me. I care. A lot.
I would try to write like no one's reading....but..is that possible? You cannot please all of the people all of the time..I know. What do you think?
Good grief...I need to lighten up...I am headed to bed shortly and unless I stop with the heavy stuff..I won't sleep. Again... :)

Smiles and love...
Mona

  1. Mona...You ARE an awesome story teller my friend. I write about everything (A GATHERING of "THOUGHTS") and I don't shy away from much. Life is too short and I'm quite sure there are MANY MANY WOMEN who would LOVE to learn from your life experiences.

I for one love to hear of your journey through this life. It's inspired me to press on and to be grateful for all things. Partially because of you I LIVE IN THE NOW!

Bless you friend. You are a JEWEL and I adore you!

xoRebecca PS: I didn't make the grasshopper thingy in case you were talking about me. Cute though...I LOVE IT!

  2. I hear you Mona.....I am also quite reticent about talking about some things...even though I think I would feel better if I did. I am not so worried that strangers will read it, but more that my family, who I would probably be talking about, would read it, and there would be some hard feelings.
I guess you just have to write what you feel, trying not to hurt anyone, and let it go.

  3. I do a mix of things and thoughts. I think you should write about whatever you like. We all enjoy your stories. Have a wonderful Sunday!

  4. Hi Mona, thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's true that we tell more things to strangers than to relatives. Occasionally I write about my personal life, like the concentration camp, but on the whole I write about my holiday experiences.

  5. Mona, YOU are an inspiration to me whether you write or just post about things for your home.

None of us ever know what we will do or say, at any moment, that will inspire someone....just go with the flow.

I stopped trying to put myself into some kind of mold years ago and I am so much happier. Take each day as it comes and do what the spirit leads you to do that day.

I am looking forward to your writing and your posting of any kind, dear lady.

    Sending you hugs, Barb

  6. Hi Mona...You are a sweet girl. I, too, hate to hurt anyone's feelings, or have people think bad of me. (I am a sensitive girl) So, I write about all kinds of stuff, but I don't go too deep. I love your blog, and love hearing your stories. You make me brave and give me courage. Hugs, Kathleen

  7. Mona -- we love your blog and whatever you want to share -- and this is about sharing ideas and stories and inspiring and loving what you get from all of this! I know that's how I feel anyway.

  8. Mona,
I say if it's the writing you love the most then write, write and write some more. I love your stories and writings. I actually lost a not so close relationship with my late husband's daughter because of one sentence in my other blog about grandchildren. We talked, I opened up even more and told her my true feelings about kids and life. She took even more offense but I also decided she had a lot of other problems besides me! I am me and either accept that or not. I don't want to have to weigh every word I say. Heaven knows (after menopause) I certainly say what I'm thinking a lot more : )) So Mona, be your true self. True friends will be just that.

  11. Your right, blogging is inspiration. For me that has no sence for decorating I can get tips of how to do that on special occasions. I can´t create anything my self, but I´m darn good at copying someone else :-)

  13. Mona, this is such a great post. I think you've said what most everyone thinks. I love blogland and all that it has to offer. Such a wide and varied world. Love it all and always enjoy your posts. Hugs, Marty

  14. I agree that you're an awesome story teller Mona, but you have to also be comfortable with yourself. I also agree that blogging is inspirational and what a wonderful blogging world to which so many of us are drawn!

  15. Oh, Mona, I do know where you are coming from. I love to write but have had a couple of moments that makes me wish I had not had the responses to my caring & love & thoughts & emotions, the way they responded. Then I got to thinking, how sad the person that cannot learn from the words of another, without criticism.

You & I have spoken lightly on your experience ... I encourage you to share your journey thru life & be yourself.

What a precious lady you are. We are here to encourage & support you in your writings/expressions/thoughts. Enjoy life now, Mona.

    Hugs, Marydon

  16. Mona, I have got have one of those cupcake stands. That is absolutely precious, and I could put my little strawberry angel in there. OMG I am on a mission now. Please stop by and see my Sunday post. I had an opportunity yesterday to get a picture that I think you will love. Summerizing the yard was a great thing. Especially if you watch around you. Happy Sunday. "Country Hugs", Sherry

  17. Well you KNOW I loved reading your life story and wish you would continue. However, in order for you to write freely you can always start another blog and write what you want there and then have it as invited guest only. That way no strangers or people who want to hurt you can ever read what you are writting.

Think about it. I have three different blogs. So it's easy to do.

    Hugs,
    Joanne

  18. I find blogging to be very educational, which is a fine excuse for my addiction.

For example, I began reading this post and went, "Cloche? HUH??" and immediately Goggled it. Then I left Mona's blog smarter than when I entered it today.

    See? Blogging is GOOD.

  19. Mona, Do what you feel in your heart and are comfortable with. No one should dictate how we feel and what we say. Your openness is what make you ~ well,YOU! And yes, isn't it just amazing what we learn from one another and gain inspiration to do things that we never thought we would be capable of doing? Keep buying up those cloches and making them look as cute as the one you just finished. Be happy! hugs, Sue

  20. Mona, just love your pretty blog and have enjoyed visiting and reading. I started a blog to take a break from my work and to express my passion for embroidery. Because of blogging I have met some of the most creative and sweet folks ever. Write what you want.....there is alway going to be people who think this or that....where would we be if some of our greatest authors or songwriters did not take that chance to show their work? The world would be so cheated. I think the sky is the limit and we are in control whether we limit ourselves or not. We can go as far as we want..... I think your writings would be an inspiration to many! blessings,Kathleen

  21. You could always just write something in notepad and then if later on you feel you want to post it you could. This way at least you have a journal of sorts of whats on your heart and mind but not all has to be posted to the world. :)

  22. Mona, dear. I want to encourage you to continue to write your life's story. It's quite a tale from what I've seen and I think you need to write it. Even if you don't post it here. Please write it.

Now, I have to go check out cupcake stands....too cute!

  23. Afternoon, Dear Mona! Oh, what a sweet little cupcake cloche! Now I want one, too! Love it! I too, love reading your writing! Your sweet spirit comes through.
I have enjoyed your 'life stories' I've read and I want to encourage you to continue with them. Remember, it's your blog and you can do what ever you want to! Write, dear one, but keep showing us your pretties too!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia :)

  24. I love your cupcake cloche...I still don't have a 'real' one. I keep looking but...so expensive. I will, however, check Ebay. I love Ebay, anyway...just love it.

I did enjoy reading about your early life in the story book form...but if you don't feel comfortable about it, don't do it.
Now, I've not ever written much of anything on my blog..just light, airy, fun...nothing that anyone would take very seriously..well, I do write (and brag) about my family. That's just what I like doing on MY blog..I love playing with my dishes for Tablescapes Thursday..I love being BLUE on Mondays..I like Vintage Tues. and 2nd Time around...so many of the memes keep me busy with my camera and now...lo and behold...I am getting the photo taking bug. Oh, no...I hope not too much because I could never afford a fancy camera. But..I have found I do love photography...who knew ?
So, this is a long-winded way of saying...do what YOU want to do on YOUR blog...it is all for you, ya know!!
    hugs, bj

  25. Hi Mona, your cupcake vignettes are sooo cute. I went to visit the blog with the instructions and want to try to make some this week with the grandkids. Hope you are well, it's always so nice to see what you've been posting. Have a happy week!

  26. Dear Mona, You have been such an inspiration to to me as one of my first followers. I don't think I was blogging yet when you were writing more personal stories but I know from your profile that you you have been through a lot. I'm sure many people would gain from hearing your life's experiences. And it's good for your soul too. You have the power of the delete key for anyone who dares make a mean comment. One of my favorite quotes that Mary Engelbreit uses in her art is by George Eliot. "It is never too late to be what you might have been." Write!
    We've got your back!

Moderate your comments and if someone is nasty then you just don't publish their comments. Whether your talking about life or things I love to read your blog :)
