Our garage sale trip this Saturday yielded this adorable little angel. He was just $3.00 and he is SO heavy. Perfect for my front porch!!
I do this sometimes. I find something I like..and well..you know..sort of go nuts with it! This year it was moss! See all the moss stuffed in the basket in the middle of my dining room table? I also did the top of my hutch with sheet moss which I have already posted... yes...this year it is moss!
I have this collection of Westmoreland glass that has been going on for years. I sort of lost interest in them..and then..I met Mary at The Little Red House! Well, anyone who knows her KNOWS she can inspire..so..I began collecting again. I had two of these and this is the smaller of the two. Mary had mentioned something about moss around Christmas...and I loved the idea. So..when Easter decorating came around I did the moss thing and in went the moss and two of my favorite bunnies went right on top! Loved it!
The second I stuck under glass in my cloche.
I FINALLY found the rooster lamp I wanted. It was on ebay and is from the Horchow collection. The lighting is very soft and I really liked the details.
Here is a closer look at the rooster itself. PERFECT!
Love to all,
Mona
Love the rooster lamp... hope you got a steal of a deal on it... and the angel on your steps... *sigh.... my week-end finds just don't match up to yours.

Hi Mona,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for garage sales to start in our area. I had stopped going to them, as they aren't as good as they were in my old town. After seeing all your finds...I'm inspired to get my wallet and drive around.
I love the look of moss too. Thanks for the sweet comments at my place today.
I just love the rooster lamp but then I love all things rooster.
ReplyDeleteLove the little angel and the rooster lamp! I'm very into moss right now too. Love that you used moss on your buffet! I wish I'd used that instead of Easter grass under my holiday decorations!

Dear Mona,
ReplyDeleteI really find it hard to believe that anyone actually reads my blog, let less finds inspiration there! lol
I found a pretty milk glass piece on Monday. I'll have to post a pic soon. LOVE your Westmoreland glass with the moss and bunnies!!!
And I also love the rooster lamp. Have you seen a pic of mine? I'll have to find the link for you... I think I probably posted it back in 2007...
Don't you just love garage sales? ;)

Mary
It's just me again, Mona..
ReplyDeletejust making sure things are ok with you....??
I have been at the hospital all day long...I should be a GREAT grandmother in another few hours. Granddaughter's water broke at 6 this morning and here it is 9 pm and she is only dilated to a 5. Looks like it will be a few more hours yet. I just got home and thought of you, for some reason...Hope everything is ok...
See ya later, sister friend..
