~THE JOY OF REPURPOSING~

Using something that was made for one purpose and using it for another.
What fun!
Some idea's I get are from other bloggers..and though I might not be exactly the same thing they did..it's from them that I solved a problem or just tried something different.
My inspiration comes from Penny@ My Vintage Home for example.
You may not copy exactly, but being inspired to TRY new things..step beyond what I would normally do..is really fun.
I love it!

At the little second hand store, the lady didn't really know what this was.  She said it might be a shawl.  I noticed that the edges were ragged..as if it were torn away from something.  I immediately knew I could use it for something and a "shawl" certainly wasn't it.
The bathroom mirror is one big square of glass.  I've always wanted to do something with it ..but it would have ..and perhaps one day will, require it being removed, but not now.  For now..this worked just fine for me.
A crocheted piece as a sewing machine cover.
I like this better then the harsh plastic cover.
A pretty wedding headpiece works to decorate this little bi fold bathroom door to my little powder room off our bedroom.   It's feminine and pretty ...I was inspired!
It doesn't interfere with the opening and closing of the door.. thankfully.

A pair of pretty gloves..add another soft touch to my dresser.

I love being inspired..and as I have said before..bloggers that love to decorate are, to me, better than any magazine on the market.  (although I admit to being hooked on magazines, I find my best idea's on blogs.)

Thanks to all of you who share your beautiful homes with us and even take the time to show us how to do things.  These are changes that don't cost a lot of money.
LOVE it! :)

  22. Ah yes, repurposing is great and I have been doing the same with items here in our home, Mona. I liked the use for the shawl and the mirror covering. The bridal wreath and gloves were pretty accents as well.
