Ok..so if you are not bored to death of the subject of my "patio set" ...here is the finished product.
While out doing the garage sales this morning..a call came from Matty, my wonderful and patient seamstress, that my cushions were all finished and ready to be picked up. She said she had a surprise for me.
Can you see the little honey bee there on the leaf? The pattern is slightly raised, embroidered, I guess, from the back. Anyway..when I got there she told me she had been able to get ALL the covers out of my yardage and that the other material was not needed! I was so happy!
This large deserted nest was in my daughters courtyard. She was so upset that the mother bird never returned to her nest. Sometimes birds do build their nests in odd places. The nest sat all that year and they finally removed it to find that the little eggs were still in it after all that time.
It makes me a bit sad to look at it..but I cannot seem to throw it away and neither could she so she let me have it. The nest is heavy and well built. I've had it for a couple of years now..and I decided to put it out on the table for Spring.
DO you know what my sweet son in law told me today when they were here? (Of course you don't..)Well..he told me that I could go to Lowe's or Home Depot and I can change the tiles in my TABLE!
He said that are all different colors...I mean, for heavens sakes, I could put frosted tiles?? Or terra cotta? No, not white..but..
Who knows what joys are there to be discovered!! And ..he said that most were just a dollar each!! Can you just believe that?
I mean ..I am ..happy with what I have. I am! I like that it sort of matches my new flagstone patio but I just want to go look. Wouldn't you?
Anyway..so tomorrow I thought we would just drop in and take a quick peek. Not to buy anything..but just to look. You know...
So..do you like the finished product?
:):):)
I'm so happy I could dance a ..a...Polka! Or something.
Have a wonderful Sunday. I'm gonna sit at my table and drink lemonade with sweet and patient husband.
Luv'n hugs,
Mona
Your table & chairs look beautiful! The cushions are a perfect color!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
Your patio looks lovely. I have a soft spot for nests, too, and have a tiny one in my entry hall table that I found on the ground last year.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...I love it! I love the color and the pattern. So pretty and perfect with the table's green color. However, I am laughing at the statement: "Not the buy anything, just to look".Hahahahaha! You're so funny! Can't wait to see the tiles that you won't buy! Hahahah!
ReplyDeleteWhy..why...HOW could you say such a thing! :) But of course I will only look!
DeleteI am so pleased you like the results! Thanks!!
Mona, you have hit the jackpot with your patio set and the wonderful (!!!) cushions. It is delightful and I LOVE it. I'm not so sure you should change the tiles (no matter how good a bargain Lowe's or H.D. has!!) I agree that the tiles reflect the stone floor and it looks almost custom made!
ReplyDeleteWould you please come and fix my patio/deck? Of course, I don't have any growing things to put out there, nor do I have a "custom" patio set, in fact, only about a 1/4 of my deck is covered, and I have no glider or little red wagon.....I guess even someone with your flair could fix my mess!
Maybe I'll just come and sit on YOUR patio!! lol!
Mellodee, when I moved here three years ago, nearly four now, that patio was empty except for that rolling table I use as a paint table. Same on the front porch. Not a flower and NO trees in the yard except the row of Cyprus that border the driveway and the shrubs against the house in the front and in the back. Not a flower..NOTHING! Blank! That that's the truth. I had a blank slate to work with.
DeleteI, of course, meant "I guess even someone with your flair COULDN'T fix my mess!
ReplyDeleteMy fingers get away with me!!
BTW, haven't had any issues with Google, but I didn't post anything either. That will be the true test!
Have a great Sunday!
With me, so far..so good!
DeleteI love it.....I just bought a vintage set yesterday, and can't wait to get it delivered.
ReplyDeleteHi Mona! Oh, your patio set is gorgeous! Those pillows are so perfect. Love how your seamstress added the little flap to go over the back of the chairs. The fabric is gorgeous. The table is so nice. I just love it. It's so pretty, it could go inside! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it.
Be a sweetie,
shelia;)
MONA! That's your name I just squealed! I LOVE your cushions. That fabric is absolutely beautiful and how perfect for outside. LOVE IT!!! The flap is perfect to hold the top cushion in place.
ReplyDeleteI love your bird's nest, too. Sad that it was abandoned. It looks great as a decoration though. You DO know you are supposed to put a real one in your Christmas tree for good luck, right? Old tradition that we have followed for years and now my kids do, too.
Hope you have a wonderful, blessed Sunday sitting on your patio! xo Diana
ps...with tiles that cheap your could change them out with each season for a whole different look....(not that I am trying to encourage you or anything!;>)
Yes! Yes! Exactly what I was thinking! Wonder if they have any with Christmas tree's on them..holly? LOL
Deletemona they are beautiful!!! just perfect and they make you want to sit there as much as possible!
ReplyDeleteThe patio set is G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S.!
ReplyDeleteJoyce and Marigene...THANK YOU!!
DeleteI love the color you painted the table and chairs and the new cushions are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMona, Mona, Mona - I am laughing inside and a silly thought just entered my head - you are going to find new tiles for your ensemble, aren't you.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny girl - enjoy the lemonade cause I kinda think you will be busy AGAIN. ha,ha Patient husband is probably giggling in his heart :)
No..NO..of course I'm not. Just looking. :) Patient Husband is watching me carefully..not sure just what he is thinking.. LOL
DeleteWow, looks like you spent hundreds of dollars on this set! Love it all! What a great job your seamstress did on the cushions. I love how she made the cushions fit over the corner of the chairs. I hate those little ties they have on most cushions. One good wind and they rip right off. Beautiful set Mona! I am a huge lover of "real" nest too, what a great thing to find real eggs in it. Sad....but great!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Mona Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness gracious. I so LOVE these cushions. And the little bee, just priceless. The color is exquisite and just perfect for summer. It makes your patio SO happy.
I can't wait to see what little tiles you bring home. Now you know you will not be able to just look. Something is going to hop in that cart. I can't wait to see. Then you can have several looks for the patio. How fun is that?
Beautiful sweet friend. Just beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing along the way. What a fun journey. Now what is your next project?
Have a glorious day today. We are expected to reach 104. Summer is already here in the valley.
Many hugs and much love, Sherry
Oh Wow! I love the newly redone patio set! Love the green you chose and the cusions are adorable! Great transformation! Kristen
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty. We all need places in our homes that are peaceful and welcoming not just to guests, but to us. You table and spot just beg for conversation and tea.
ReplyDeleteOne day, when my little kids are not up to mischief and into everything, It'll be nice to have furniture where the cushions stay put and jumping on them loses their appeal. ;-)
I love your "re-do" Very pretty. It just begs for conversation and tea.

One day, when my little kids are no longer so little and up to so much mischief, the couch cushions will stay put and jumping on them will lose it's appeal. Then perhaps places such as this will be more common in our home. In the meantime, I just try to keep the pancake syrup cleaned off the table and chairs! ;-)
Nice for your seamstress to embroider bees on your cushions.
"For so work the honey bees, creatures that by a rule in nature teach the act of order to a peopled kingdom" William Shakespeare.
Your patio set turned out just gorgeous. I wish I could stop by and sit there with you on your beautiful porch. You have a great knack of putting things together. Enjoy!
