~WE ARE NOT ALONE..~

Tonight I went blog hopping..so to speak. I followed threads from blog to blog and began to wish I hadn't. I entered unknown territory. Folks, WE ARE NOT ALONE! There is a strange group of people out there...no really..there is. Actually they are scary!

I don't think I am a coward..and I know there are all kinds of folks..but this was a world I really would not want to live in. Young or old.

I'll stay in my world where people are usually nice to one another. Polite. Share simple things and interests. People who compliment and are warm. Sometimes I forget that right next to the peaceful world we live in...there are folks in another reality. I hope I don't have nightmares tonight. I hate those!

Yep, give me a pretty quilt, a cup of tea and a kind word any day of the week. (And chocolate of course.)
I found this sweet little quilt in Tender Hearts catalog. It's a "picnic quilt" :)
So it is now on my table..where I picnic! I thought the colors were so pretty.

Remember I couldn't find my St. Patrick's Day decorations? No big deal..because just outside in the front flower bed..guess what I found! :)
No, no, not down there..those are tree's. The shamrocks. Neat aren't they?? Especially since they are all I have!

I love these trees. They tower over our driveway and shield my little truck from the wind and sun.
Those trees are even taller than they look in the picture. The truck was parked just below camera range..GEORGOUS!

Anyway...I don't think I will be wandering too far away any time soon. I love the blogging world I live in..with cute jokes and photo's of little piggies doing exercises...tablescapes to tax my imagination, lovely antiques and beautiful country landscapes and SNOW. Yeah..you might be tired of it..but I think it is fantastic!
(of course I don't have to shovel it!) Now and then, serious subjects are opened and it's nice. No harshness and no anger..just up front opinions..and we move on.

The simple life. That's for me.

Love and hugs,
Mona

P.S. Yes, I KNOW it's pink Saturday and I wanted to post something PINK..but it's also Garage sale day and besides I forgot. (I'm old! It's NOT my fault!) I'll do Pink Saturday NEXT week.

  1. Wow. Sorry to hear you found some unpleasant blogs. I love blog hopping and, well, found you that way. I'd hate to blog hop into that other world. I didn't even know it was out there. Guess I'm a bit naive. And to be able to get there from us happy people blogger's blogs, that's scary. Thanks for letting us know.
    Have a great weekend!
    Hugs,
    Laura

  2. Oh Mona,
I just love your sweet posts! I don't think I would like that other blogging world. I like this one, it's cozy and homey and a big sisterhood of wonderful women! Your quilt is really beautiful! And, those trees and shamrocks, very nice! Have a lovely week-end and thanks for your note about bears! That was kind of scary!
    Big Hugs,
    Cindy

  4. YIKES! Icky blogs ARE out there, I know! I have come across just a few, but try to get the heck out of there asap! That being said...if it weren't for blog hopping, I wouldn't have found you and numerous others on my blog roll! Generally I just follow the bunny trails thru blogs I am familiar with...pretty safe bet I'll not fall down an 'Alice in Wonderland hole!!!

  6. Sometimes I just click next blog for an adventure. I have found some wonderful blogs that way.

There is much strangeness in the world. That is what makes everyone so unique.

Live on the wild side, who knows what wonderful blogs you may find.

  7. Morning, Dear Mona! Oh, no, spooky blogs! I've had a couple of strange comments through the time I've been blogging and of course I always try to respond and especially if it's someone I don't recognize. Well, I found like you, I ain't going there! :) No No Nannette!! I agree, let's stay with our 'kind'! LOL After all, I used to live in Roswell, New Mexico. I kid you not! :)

  10. YES... you need to stay right here in this part of the Blogging World with all us other old ladies. Hee hee. Some of us are weird too, but sort of middle of the road weird and harmless.

Glad you found a few shamrocks right there at home. Amazing that we have most of what we need right in our own backyards, now don't we?

  14. Unfortunately dear, sweet Mona, there are idiots out there trying their best to brainwash us and convince us to enter their world.
I prefer they stay on their side of the fence.
I want only to be in our special blogland group where we all share things we have in common.

It's good to explore but you never know what you will find. Kinda sad, isn't it?

    hugs

  15. I'm with you, Mona. Some of the blogs I bump into aren't really even scary, just so different from what I want to read and respond to. It makes me happy that I am where I want to be.

I am so glad you found the shamrocks and I hope that you find your St. Paddy's Day decorations soon. As my mom used to say "They didn't get up and walk away" lol!! Love those big trees, too!

    Take care!

    xoxo

  16. Hi Mona,
I've been very lucky. I don't recall ever surfing into any mean or spooky blogs. I guess I know they're out there, but like you, I'm staying in this beautiful blog world of yours and mine where people prefer to look for the good in each other. I am blessed to be friends with you and the other ladies I've met through blogging. Thanks for the warning.
    Blessings,
    Patricia :o)

PS: Did you find anything thing special garage saleing? I spent all day out and only got a really small birdcage type plant holder, a three foot piece of chain to hang plants and a fuax cement garden ornament that looks like a finiale. All for a dollar.

  17. Oh Mona, where did you go? I must say I have never encountered a scary, offensive blog. Occasionally I have surfed onto a post when a blogger will be a tad down, discouraged, or a bit upset. However, I never wander far from home:-).

  18. While I've done it once, that was about all it took for me to learn there are strange things out there that I want nothing to do with. I have found that if you stick with blogs listed on your favorites posts most of the time you are safe though.

Thank for visiting me today and good luck winning my giveaway!

    Hugs,
    Joanne

  19. Hello Mona,
I've never even been brave enough to venture out further than my sweet circle of blogging friends. I like to stay where it is safe and cozy too! Sorry you had such a scare...come back to the fireside where there are fresh flowers, a spot o' tea and a nice scone fresh from the oven and claire da lune playing!

    Warmly,
    Nancy

  21. Mona, your blog is lovely and as I sat and read your profile I was thinking that today is the first day my dear husband has gone back to work after such a horrid illness and all of a sudden while I know it, it hit me just how lucky I truly am today.

I too have done a blog to blog trip and came home just here beauce the simple pleasures are those I feel most comfortable around. I do hope you visit me some time down here in Australia while my last few post have been sadder the others from my past have filled me with joy to share.

  22. You are so right, there are some strange things going on out there. I'm with you, I love the polite uplifting people, the ones just like you, they give us hope.

  23. Like you, I prefer to stay within my comfort zone. There is far too much sadness in this world to dwell on it. It's the middle of the night and I can't sleep, so until I try to wrap back up in a cozy quilt and dream sweet dreams, I will visit more safe and happy blogs like yours!

    Love,
    Susan and Bentley

  26. Hi Mona, hope you are doing well these days?!? I know what you mean about getting into the wierd posts or websites...once I thought I was getting to a "victorian lampshade" site and it turned out to be naked women! I tried it again thinking I made a mistake, but no - there they were again - I stayed away from that place, YIKES! And there are a lot of mean fanatics out there too. You have to watch it like a hawk! Make sure they don't get attached to your site. Well, gotta go, have a great week! God is watching over us, keep Him real close!
    Love,
    Marilyn

  31. Good Morning Mona Sweetie...
Oh I love this post. I try not to blog to far from home. It is a scary world out there. Stay inside our safe boundaries. It isn't safe to go there alone. Stranger danger Mona...

I love this quilt, and you know I love them on my table top, I will have to check out Tender Hearts. I haven't heard of them before.

Yes, I am flying clear to Maryland to see my BFF Marydon. I can't wait. It is my birthday gift to me. I will be having my birthday April 25th, so I am flying out on the 16th and coming back on the 24th. We are celebrating with me there for a tea. I can't wait. She is the sweetest friend ever, and when she asked me to come, I could NOT say no. I decided to take a week off from work, and do it. Years ago, I would not have been brave enough, but I have decided life is to short, so I am going. DH thought it would be so nice for me. A girl trip. Yeah... I will post lots of pictures when I come back.

Have a beautiful day sweetie. Country hugs and much love, Sherry

  32. Hi, Mona..I missed this post somehow. I find I am getting slower and slower...and spend too much time on the computer. Oh, dear..

I haven't been on any scary blogs yet. Now, I want to go over and find one, just to see. I don't know how to do that, tho. I love being scared...scary shows, scary books, but I don't like MEAN things...ya know.
