~MISSING~

I know I've been a bad blogger.  There are times when I think we are just overwhelmed with life..good or bad, it can become that way.  Overwhelming.
It became an effort just to get from one room to the next...but I'm slowly getting better.
This is the first time I have really felt my age.  Inactivity from a bum knee is probably the cause.

That amazing little shot sure helped.

The tiny girl in my header is Emily...my great granddaughter.  I am searching for my pictures..and then AOL said they were getting rid of their picture storage so to find another place and suggested one I was not familiar with..
made me want to cry.
Do you ever feel inadequate on the computer?
I DO!

You see, I downloaded Window's 10 and if I thought I had troubles before that slowed me down..it was nothing to what I have now.
Lost my pictures..
Lost my favorites.
I finally did find my address book, once..now I can't remember how I did it!

So many things I cannot figure out.   I think if I had been feeling better, I may have been more patient and would not have panicked like I did.  It has been emotionally tiring to try to figure things out.
What possessed me to be think "upgrading" was going me make things easier..I have no idea.
I am just not computer literate enough to pick up on things like that.
NOT BY A LONG SHOT.

Think I'll go to bed.

  2. Hi Mona! You are not alone in computer confusion - just when I think I am somewhat savvy, something happens to prove I know nothing, lol. I recently lost my pictures as well and I have no idea why. I believe they are still on my computer but have moved elsewhere. Hmmm..... Anyway, chin up my friend, I hope things get better for you soon! Jane

    Maybe I will erase it all . . .
Turn off the power and go back to writing letters and talking on the phone.
Giving up and/or not gang my photos will not make me happy though.

  8. Sweet new Banner picture.

All you have to (can do) is make your Blog Name letters, be smaller print size... Then they will not over-run the pretty picture.

  9. NEVER UPGRADE!!!!

Upgrades are done by computer whizzzzzzzzzzzes, who think everything new, is automatically better.

    Hehhhhhhh...

    Not for us 'olden' folks.

  10. Aren't all your old pictures, already on your blog?

So why do you have to have them "stored" somewhere, anyway?

As soon as I use my pics, I delete them.

But I know, I am different. Some people have zillions of their old pics, "somewhere".

  12. Bless you Mona, I know your pain. I just thought to myself about that windows 10..not doing that. I went through a tough enough time with Google Chrome. I like plain and simple...because I too do not understand all the ins and outs of using a computer. I was going to takes some classes...they are on-line....now how would that work when on-line is what I want to learn ???Hmm? I am going to wish you the very best of luck...I do miss your posts. Your gg.daughter is adorable. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  14. When I look at your header pic all I could think of was: Enchanting...that pic of her is the sweetest thing! Don't fret over that bundle of wires and confusion called "computer"! I get so mad at mine that I always say that's it's a good thing I don't have a baseball bat sitting next to me! I found a wonderful computer guy who will help me anytime...that's my son...then I also have borrowed my husband's computer guy who helps him out when he needs it...see, everyone at some time needs some help! I'm glad a shot helped your knee! I'm so grateful that my pain is gone since surgery but I do hope you won't have to go to that length...my poor hubby has knee issues all of sudden. He doesn't need a total but will probably need an arthroscopy one day soon. It's hell getting older! I hope today is a beautiful day and you're feeling better! It's always good to hear from you!

  15. So glad that you are feeling better! A bum knee can wear a person out. Your comments about Windows 10 are very helpful. I think that I will hold out for a while longer. Hope that you find your address book and get your pictures where you want them.

  16. Sept. 1..... Afternoon....

Mona, I just sent you an email. I copied your comment in my blog (You can't email me, because AOL won't let you), and responded to it.

Now I wonder, if you will get it? Will AOL allow you to read your emails?

And if not, what are you going to do now?

  17. See above. I said NEVER UPGRADE. -grin-

Here is a link to an article, about the TROUBLES, from upgrading to Windows 10...

    Just sayin'......

I give you this, in a comment here, because I still don't know if you can read my emails to you, on your AOL.

    1. Let's try for that link again....

      Link to article.....

I see the click-able link, when I click on Preview. If it doesn't show up, in this email...... Run your curser over it. Maybe you have disabled a color change, for click-able links?????

    2. That's it!!! Click-able links, do not show up, in a contrasting color, on your blog. But if you run your curser over them, they show up "underlined." Hope they work...

  18. I haven't downloaded Windows 10, as I haven't heard anyone that liked it. I probably won't until I am forced to...maybe by then they will have worked all the bugs out of it.
I wasn't even aware that you could store photos on AOL...I had them for email for many, many years, but rarely use that account any longer.
    Have a great week, Mona.

  19. Hi Mona, I hope you get to feeling better and I'm glad that shot helped!
I'm definitely not downloading Windows 10 yet. Too many glitches that cannot be corrected as of yet. I'm sure it will be just fine months from now but I'm happy with Google Chrome.

  20. Hi Mona,
Missing you. My laptop crashed and I had to purchase a new one. My old operating system was Vista, so you know how long I had been using that laptop. The new computer has Windows 10....I understand how it's slowed you down, but you will get it! I had to do lots of tweaks....and I don't have my graphics programs loaded onto this laptop yet, but one thing at a time....it will all sort itself out. I actually LIKE Windows 10....as I find out where it's hiding things from me, LOL I also understand the effort it takes to move as we get older. I haven't done anything in months since I fell and had shoulder surgery. I'm hoping that bloggers like you, will inspire me. This is the fun time of year....fall....where the colors are beautiful! I can't wait to see what new header you create for Fall. (Not that your great grand daughter isn't adorable, but I've so enjoyed your headers since you learned to create them!) I am ashamed to say that I have done nothing with my own blog for ages now. There was such a learning curve and the picture taking stopped completely when I bought a new camera. It was supposed to be such an improvement....taking pictures in low light, etc. but it jut meant more learning, LOL Maybe I'll get really inspired, and get back into it. Don't YOU disappear now! You're not allowed to, LOL

  21. It's good to hear from you.

Ten is better than 8, I think. I had the old seven and Marcy had eight. I have had more difficulties with Marcy's that mine. It will all work out.

    Have a blessed day.

  22. Aw, sending you a huge hug! I can imagine how all of this has made you feel :(
I hope you can get it all sorted out with some techno help. Without my son's help, I would be lost!
Beautiful picture of Emily when she was younger! How is she enjoying the reality of her baby brother, now that all the initial excitement of the birth has passed?

  25. Hi Mona, sorry to read that the knee has been causing such discomfort and hope you will be feeling much better soon. I have an HP desktop running an older version of Windows and while I am eligible for the upgrade to Windows 10, I have decided NOT to upgrade. MY older PC is running perfectly fine now and by year end or at the start of next year, I will be replacing it with an iMac most likely so "if it aint broken, not fixing it" is my thought. Hope you can recover the lost photos and other things.

  26. So sorry you are having so much trouble with Win 10...I'd heard it was straight from hell. When I bought my new laptop last year, son and daughter both said "we'll get one with Win 7...8 is a bugger, too." So I am staying away from all above 7...:)
