~MAKING CHANGES TO BLOG..(a learning process)~

You see, for years now I have been paying very nice bloggers who have acquired talent for making blog headers..adding backgrounds..and just all sorts of wonderful things.
It's gotten to the point that I really want to grow up and learn to do things for myself.
Not that I will ever have the patience to learn all there is to know..or even want to..but at least I will have more freedom about changing things.
I have been fortunate enough to become acquainted with a dear lady who has most generously in offering  to help me..and has done this free of charge.
Believe me, her patience is amazing.
We are not always online at the same time..and we both have our duties around our homes.
so..
She has worked out a way of communicating with me..and
Lord help me..
I have had to learn to read directions!!  It's always what I do when I can't figure it out any other way..
But..fear of losing my blog..kept me a prisoner.

You see, that is part of the reason that after blogging for some 6 or 7 years...no, wait..it cannot be!!
Yes..I'm right..at least that long...I still cannot do this for myself.
So..

Wish me luck on my journey with a woman who uses "tough love" to move me along!
I will leave it up to her to comment with her name...IF she wishes.
I will sing her praises to the sky...as soon as I ask permission!
LOL  Can you guess why I say that? :)
SO..
SEE MY DISHES UP THERE?  I DID THAT MY VERY OWN SELF!
:)
Yes, yes, I know it's not perfect yet...but we are working on it.
*sigh*
But I am so VERY pleased and grateful!

Love,
Mona

  4. Now Mona all of us scarred bloggers will be coming to you for advice. I wish I was as brave as you. My blog has been the same for ever, I won't count the years, and it could do with a nice clean cut up date. My problem is I don't think I could put my selling buttons on it.
    Your header looks amazing.

  5. Oh, I love your new header image and am most impressed to learn that you put it up there all on your own, with "touch love" helping in the wings. I look forward to seeing other changes as you gain in confidence.

  11. I've always done my own changes, and yes it can be a little intimidating. I have almost messed up big time more than once, but thankfully figured out the solution :) I have also helped a friend make changes to her blog over the years and she lives miles and miles from me. Its amazing what friends can accomplish on line when working together. It was good to see your comment on my blog post this morning. Yes, I too never out grew my baby dolls or Raggedy Ann ;) Your header picture looks great.....pretty soon you will be a pro and on your way to helping others with their blogs. Blessings friend

  12. Mona,

I'm so proud of you!!! I'm about to pay a lady to make me some click-spots for topics---I've forgotten what she calls them, you know, the buttons at the top that take you to different sections.

Soon as I can get my house in order and ducks in a row, I'm getting help, for I've needed an overhaul for a long time. Six years for me, too, in November.

Looking forward to all you're gonna do.

  15. Your new blog header looks great! I never have managed to put a header on my blog, I just plunged in and did what parts I could easily figure out at the time I started. Maybe it is time for me to try and figure out how to do a header.

  18. I freshen up my blog every once in a while, as it is like painting a room in the house or changing the furniture around. I like your header very much, in fact love it. Great job and regarding your post on all those boxes in the garage, you have to be more systematic - I did mine last year, added some shelves and put each and every season in sections. Worked really well and now when I go into the storage room it is all neat and tidy and mostly in order. I love your seasonal changes, so get busy girl. Best to PH - tell him not to bother with the mirror thing today, as we are expecting torrential downpours. lol
