What's with this 3:30 A.M. stuff!  Some nights no sleep at all and some mornings I am awake long before dawn.  Am I worried?  A bit, but then isn't everyone to some degree?  Should I put on a pot of coffee?  Have some with that wonderful vanilla creamer?
I would love to post some pictures...inspire you, make you smile..but, I got nothin'!
I used to sleep so soundly.  A feeling of cozy, well being.  I know I  should, but I don't.  I don't know why that is because I am safe and warm and loved.
I keep dreaming of losing my purse.  Being lost with no phone, no money, no wallet, no purse!  Sometimes I'm on a lonely road, and there is nothing in either direction....and it's getting dark!  I am NOT one who likes the dark, never have.
I dream a lot now.  Last night I dreamed of Pat.  I do that lately.  In my dream he was telling me that he had told someone "I love Mona Duffy" and even in my dream my heart skipped a beat and joy swept over me and I remembered that feeling.
I woke up but I didn't cry like I used to.
I just smiled and got up early.  VERY early! :)
They say love never dies and I believe that
Have I ever told you that on our very first date back in June 1952, we went to a drive in theatre and saw a movie with Leslie Caron in "Lili".  Some of you probably don't remember her.  She was a French actress and cute as a button.  I still remember the song that was featured in the film.
It goes something like:
A song of love, is a sad song,
hi Lili, hi Lili, hi low...
A song of love is a song of woe
Don't ask me how I know....
I was only 15 and he was 18 and graduating from high school in just a few weeks and planned on joining the Marine Corp.
He kissed me and said "Will you marry me?" and I said yes.
Maybe that is why I dream of being lost so much.
Sometimes I have to wonder why.  How could this have happened?
Where did 57 years go?
Just yesterday I took photo's of the front of our home.  The change to the front is amazing and I had no idea  what a difference  painting the trim would make.  Did you notice that homes are being painted in brighter colors now?
A few new flowers..but it's more then that..I think a home reflects how much you love it.
Just like people do.
Love never really ever dies.  I believe that.  And look at me, I am on my third life, really.

Am I lucky to have found love a third time lucky.
Think I'll go have that coffee now..and go peek at the sleeping husband that shares these last years of my life.  I can't wait to tell him how grateful I am to have him...

I dream every night and ALWAYS remember my dreams...some of them are just crazy, but I have good dreams, too. We are both very blessed to be married to our soul mates at this time of our lives. What a difference it makes to have a house filled with love! Enjoy your weekend! Are you off to garage sales this morning? Have fun! ♥

What a sweet post. There are people that are meant to be in our life and to lose them is hard. I believe you are never the same after but like all women, we pick up our boot straps and move on. I'm happy that you are happy again. Deb

Sitting here with a cup of chai coffee with vanilla creamer in it right now.. YUM!!!! I'm not sure I was ever in love with my first husband. That was soooo many decades ago. Looking back I think it was just teen-age lust for his body.... This time around it's truly love.

Hi Mona, I think Pat came to visit you last night just remind you that you are loved. But you know that. I'm having trouble sleeping, too. Either I can't sleep at night, or wake up too early. Too much in going on in life, I guess. Not all good, not all bad. Hoping your find peaceful rest tonight and wake up fresh and rejoicing.
Hugs and smiles,

I sit at the window and watch the rain, Hi-Lili, Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo
Tomorrow I'll probably love again, Hi-Lili, Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo.

I remember this song very well - My Mother used to sing it to me all the time and it was probably one of the first songs I could sing all the way through from the memory of her singing to me. Takes me back every time I hear it. Thanks for the sweet memory and Mona, you are most fortunate.
Have a great day :)

I must be in the same era Mona I can remember the song well. I'm sure angels are surround you all the time. It must have been Pat that just flew past last night.
After Garage sales today take a nap. It is my guess you won't because you will be polishing the silver that you bought.
Surround yourself with those who love you, and let peace flow over you with slumber.

I'm so sorry you aren't sleeping well. I have sleep issues alot. My problem is falling asleep. I can be so tired and lay down. My body relaxes about 10 minutes and then I can be awake for hours.
When I have had surgeries or illnesses the sleeping gets worse. You have been through some medical changes and that could be triggering things.
Such a sweet dream. I can't imagine loosing someone that you loved for so many years. I think both you and your sweet hsband were blessed to find each other.
When you can't sleep count the ones that love you so much.

Oh, Sweetpea!

You have SUCH lovely memories. Keep writing them down, even as dreams---in a journal, on your blog, on an envelope you fish out of your purse when you're waiting in line at the BMV.

And especially in letters to your children---it would mean the world to them to have it in your own words what a wonderful life you shared with Pat and with THEM.

And what a wonderful life you're HAVING.

Awwwww darlin' I think it's just sweet as can be that you can still feel Pat's love after all these years if only in a dream! That's truly a love that lasts forever!!!

I was born in 1952 but know the song well. It's one of the songs my Mama used to sing. She sang many!

Sorry your not sleepin' well, I've been havin' problems for awhile but just call me 'flash'...covers on...covers off! Heeehehehehe!!!

God bless ya sweet Mona and have yourself a glorious day!!! :o)

Such a sweet post. You are lucky to have found love more than once. I remember that movie and in fact it was on TV a few months ago. I love it! Have a good week Mona!

You are so lucky, many people never find one love.

A home reflects the love within it.

I agree with GAIL...
I am so thankful that you and Patient must be so hard to lose a loved one as you both have. How wonderful that the many kinds of love God gives our hearts can help heal and bring happiness again. Oh, it's never the same as that first love....but how blessed we are to have found it....and then go on to another.
