~PROGRESS ON FLAGSTONE PATIO...~

...and finally it is finished.  Yesterday a full crew came to work..and the job was done.

This is the dearest son in law!  He works so hard.  I have known him since he was about 14 years old.

He was able to do this for us between jobs...and on this day he worked alone to get it done.  It was Labor Day and his helpers had the day off.
His son had the time to help...bless is heart!

We were so lucky he was able to work us in.

This was the last stretch..down the walkway out to the driveway..

Monday, my dear son in law was back bright and early and did all the grouting on the patio..
Tuesday morning..
...a full crew and the grouting was finished.  We were able to hose it down this morning and began putting things back!
An enormous job!

Tomorrow..I hope most of it will be done..and I can show off our new flagstone patio and walkway.

I have tried to work on it today but the heat was 110 today and the humidity horrible.  It drove me inside time after time.
In the process I broke a mirror and one of my beautiful 25 cent blue and white china vases..
:(
So early tomorrow morning will find me back at it..and hopefully ready for pictures to post.

Yes..110 degrees!

So until tomorrow..or Friday... :)
Love and hugs,
Mona

  1. Mona, the walk looks lovely and you are indeed fortunate to have such a talented artisan in the family. WOW that heat is one reason we would not be considering a move to CA. It's still hot here on the VA eastern shore and that has us thinking about a move to cooler climes in the next few years. Don't stay out too long in the hesat. Sorry about the mirror and vase breakages.

  2. Wow, 110F in CA. The weather is all over the place in CA! We lived in Sunnyvale (between San Jose and Palo Alto on the Peninsula) for 10 years and we did NOT have an air conditioner!! We only had a couple of 100 degree days a year and most of the rest of the time it was in the 65-85 range! You must be inland!

Lovely flagstone! Wonderful son-in-law. Wish I had one of those! :)

  6. The flag stone is beautiful. I can't imagine how your son-in-law managed to work like that with the weather being what they are there. It's only in the mid 80s to low 90s here and it's hard to do much outside. Don't try to do too much out there now take your time and it'll get done.
