I just wanted you to see the temperature at about 11 AM this morning.
And this was in the shade.
I had to get a lot done before noon..at this point I was nearly done moving things.
I hosed the stones down hoping it would keep me cool until most of the work was done.
Mele has decided IF the stones are cool enough she MIGHT come out. Can't say as I blame her one bit. It's HOT out here!
There! There's the stones! :)
You see....
I just have so much stuff out on the patio that dear Patient Husband, I think, fears it detracts from the stones. Is he right? Oh...probably.. :)
Yes, yes, that's my old king size quilt on top of my swing. Doesn't everybody put their old bed quilts over their swings? And..their tableclothes under their swing cushions? They don't? :)
I need to put my hanging plants behind the swing...I think. We'll see.
No, it won't hit them when we swing. (much..)
There..stone! :)
The water is drying fast...gotta hurry as it was getting hotter by the second! Oh..and look at this!!
I wanted to show you what happened to the grass when the men sat the umbrella's on the lawn to shand them while laying the stones..
They didn't sit there for days..just one afternoon...but better the grass then my family!
Looking back down the path toward the patio. Our poor lawn is struggling.
...and here we are back at the patio looking in from the path.
I realize there is a lot of "stuff" on the patio, as everyone is so fond of saying, but every single thing there is absolutely....ABSOLUTELY...necessary. Don't you think??? Me too! :)
It's sooo nice to have friends that agree with you.
Hugs,
Mona
g'morning, Mona, I love your new patio. It looks fantastic...and I don't, for a minute, think there's too much *stuff* on it. It every bit looks very VERY necessary to me, too. :))
ReplyDeleteI love it all...except for the 103...whew...

GAW-JUS!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Mona,
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. But...there is "someone" missing in those patio pictures. ABBY! Where is she?
Good grief, you are having hot weather. This morning it was 58 degrees here and at noon it's 80. Perfect weather.
Heaps of Hugs

Hi Mona, your patio/porch area is lovely....so very inviting. May I come over? :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your sweet comment to me about my tablescape. You made my day!!!!!!
Hugs, Barb ♥
It looks really, really great! But that temperature is just inhumane! We had around 39F here this morning :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Christer.
It is all looking beautiful, Mona! I love the way you've furnished your patio! To me, it looks delightful, not too much stuff at all! The paving is so attractive and the views across your perfectly manicured garden, too lovely! I'd honestly be out there ALL day, except when it's quite that hot! Sjoe! I think you are SO CLEVER to have used your quilt as a swing shade. It looks so pretty and I'd thought it was a specially designed shade until you spilled the beans! You are very creative and a gifted decorator.
ReplyDeleteHi Mona,
ReplyDeleteThe whole area is so attractive and welcoming. There is not too much of anything and just the right amount of everything. Sorry it isn't as cool as it looks. It can't be too enjoyable sitting out there when the temps this high. Hopefully things will cool off soon. Have a great weekend. Hugs
Mona, the stone is truly beautiful!! I love the look of it! Good choice.
ReplyDeleteAs for the rest of your patio, as long as all the furniture and accessories are things you love and it's your patio, and everything is necessary, they you have no other choice!! Go for it! :)
Oh it looks wonderful! What a great gathering spot -- I know you'll enjoy it so much.
ReplyDeleteMona, the patio and stonework do look nice, but my in such heat do you and Howard get much of a chance to be outdoors? It's warm here on the VA eastern shore, but 80s not 100! ENjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful...nicely decorated and arranged!
ReplyDeleteDear Mona,
ReplyDeleteIt looks FABULOUS!!!
Thanks for stopping by...I am happy that you shared my September Maine posting with your sweet and patient husband, but wish you were here in person.
Where is Ingall's Island??? There are so many. We are on Rutherford, but we don't own the island, we have one of the old Miles Fresh Air Camp cottages, it was the boy's bunkhouse and we fixed it up for a Country Living article, but really for US.
We are so happy here. Come back, come back, when it is in your soul it never leaves you.
Love,

I have patio envy! Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour new patio and walkway are beautiful Mona. It's not just the stones though, it's all the love and "stuff" you do to make it inviting for your guests! My kids loved the visit and still ask about you. Just asked my girl what she remembered most and she said,"Her yard was beautiful, and she had birds and a dog..." She went on and on!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I have too much stuff on my patio too Mona! It was commented on just the other day. However, I cannot part with any of it. I do have a dilemma though. What to do with my geraniums in the winter. I always used to bring them in, but this year I can't because I don't have the room. My rooms are full of my grandson's 'stuff'. Help!
ReplyDeleteOh Mona... It's just beeeeutiful. LOVE it.... and, I agree. All that "stuff" in necessary.

Everything perfect out there, except for your Dear Smiling Self, feet propped, a good book in hand, and a pitcher of iced tea.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, and such a charming setting.

I'm a little late on commenting, but I have to say, "that is just beautiful!!!"...I would love to come and swing on the swing and just admire the beauty of your yard...as soon as the temp is cooler! I don't think you have too much stuff on the stones...you wouldn't want to go out there and just sit on the stones would you? No...so enjoy it and hopefully the weather will get nicer. I think you grass looks pretty good for being baked!
ReplyDeleteMona darling, you always know how to make my heart sing.... I hope it's cooled off for you so you can enjoy your beautiful patio... hugs ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteHi Mona,
