At least for me! A garage sale find for 50 cents.
It doesn't matter if one arm is a bit crooked...all the better! After all...it's Halloween month!
An old brass wall sconce...and black spray paint... |
A bit of ribbon...grungy candles and ....Halloween whimsy for the wall! |
When I went in to take a picture to add to my post...I discovered something! I think they match...PERFECTLY! That's amazing. Different home, (this one was from an estate sale) from last year and the wall sconce above is from a garage sale this past week! Am I pleased....OR am I pleased!!!
How I LOVE that spray paint!
I missed Met Monday. I Always forget!
I hope your Monday was peaceful and quiet..and nice. Mine was...after a rather hectic weekend.
Love, hugs, and candy corn to you!
Mona
Hello Mona,
ReplyDeleteI love your sconce and candelabra!! Spraypaint covers a multitude of sins!! (My mother used to say that "Wallpaper covers a multitude of sins"!!)
A few months ago I spray painted a badly pitted Victorian silverplated brides basket and silverplated vase basket. Both are now block and are perfect for my autumn decor. I have an autumn bouquet in the vase and crispy fresh and juicy Courtland apples in the brides basket. I have a box of brass candlesticks (that I am tired of polishing!!)LOL! So I shall dig out a couple and give them a couple of coats.
Thanks for sharing!
Warm hugs, Laura
Ooops! "Black!!"

And I see you are finding and creating some good Halloween stuff and fall decor.
Now, you got me wantin to eat a big handful of candycorn, I love that stuff.

Hi Mona!
ReplyDeleteNow, those are just tooooo darn cute. I love them painted black... Isn't that a song?? :-) And, from two different places... amazing. You have a good eye girlfriend.
Huggies,
Spencer
Great sconce Mona and I love that you painted it black, that brass is hard to shine.
ReplyDeleteI have a few things around here I need to spray paint, like the wicker furniture on the front porch... and new cushions for it to boot! I've been lazy of late.
Hi Miss Mona,
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. You are an artist and we love the way you decorate stuff.
Did you say CANDY CORN? Where? When? How Much?
We are sending Mom to the grocery store to get us Candy Corn. Yummy.
Sticky kisses,
Prudence & Sissy
Candy Corn Wishes to You, Too, Sweetpea!!
ReplyDeleteYou just have the touch for re-kindling the light in older items you find and see the hope and beauty in. I don't have that flair---though I DID take every painting and picture out of the frames several years ago. I took the frames all outdoors to newspapers and sprayed them a lovely shade of older gold.
And I've had a lovely can of pale cream paint, to re-do a sixty-year-old knotty pine hutch---waiting in the closet for two years.
Happy Tuesday to you, Dearie!!
It couldn't turned out better if ya had planned it! Your decor always blows me away. I'm just gonna concentrate on Christmas this year, I just can't seem to muster up any energy right now.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day and loads of fun with your paint. I've got a feelin' your hutch is gonna be great!
Hi Mona! Oh, congratulations on the perfect match!! Looks great and I love the black color you've painted!! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good week.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
HI Mona,
ReplyDeleteWow! I Love it! how perfect they look together. You did a great job...
Have a sweet day and hugs, Elizabeth
Very nice indeed. I love the candles too. I've seen them over there. They look sooooo old and yet I know they're not. I think they are in the 'primitives' range, are they not?
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Star
You are really good at spray painting!
ReplyDeleteThey do match really good!
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Love them both!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Penny
