~A JOHN DEERE WHAT??~

Last Saturday we headed off to the garage sales..and sweet husband had a case of protruding lower lip from the Saturday before when he found NOthing! Not one single CD, not a book, nothing!

This Saturday though...with the day and breakfast at our favorite place behind us, we were headed home..and decided to stop for one last look...late in the morning...noon actually! And suddenly...there it was! HIS HEARTS DESIRE! The most perfect bike he had ever in his life seen....ever!
He was calm! Yes and he was cool...but he had begun to perspire! His eyes gave him away...they simply SPARKLED!
The price? NOT cheap but less than half the price if bought in a store...
He asked to take it for a short spin and left me as collateral. He hopped on and was gone like the Blue Streak...I mean Green Streak! I could see he was in love! Yes...this was a true case of "love at first sight."
He didn't have enough money, and of course checks were not acceptable, so off he went once again to get cash...one again leaving ME as collateral! I didn't mind. I was delighted for that man!
Is there anything greater than to see a really HAPPY to the core full grown man?

Here he is getting all decked out with his music...(gotta have music on a lovely Spring day!)

Yep...he ran out and bought a new helmet...gotta obey the law!

Ready for TAKE OFF! When I took this picture he had just said "Wow..but that sun is bright!"
Now every morning after breakfast...I get some "me time" while he puts the miles behind him.
And....he is 76 years old! :) Now that DOES make me smile!
Love and hugs,
Mona

  6. I love this post! He may be 76, but he has the heart and soul of a sweet little boy. He looks as happy as he probably did when he got his first bicycle. It reminds me of Frank Sinatra's song "Young at Heart". Something we should all remember to be. Have a great weekend. You will have your "me time" and hubby will be cruising to some great tunes!

    Lots of love,

  12. Your sweet Howard found his dream machine! How lucky he is to be able to ride a bike at 76 years young, when so many are not able. I am surprised he didn't get a JD helmet!

  14. I love your label on this one! And the bike is just great! We love to bike ride and wear our helmets...but music makes it hard to hear vehicles nearby. I'm so happy for him and think he looks very young on his new ride! You need to find one for you, girlfriend! It's fun! ♥

  23. Hello Mona ~I've truly missed my visits, but little by little I'm catching up.
Although last month was difficult with our loses a new month has brought new hope.
I poured myself a cup of tea and read a spell...
Seeing your hubs on that green (Deer) bike reminded me of the Green Hornet. That may be the perfect name to christen his bike with. Will you be joining him any time soon?
I told my hubs I wanted to get a bike, he shook his head and laughed.

I'm so excited to see spring blooms popping up. I look forward to applying the inspirational palette of colors into a few DIY decorations and gifts, with a little baking/cooking in between.
Don't you love the aroma that fills the air during this season?
    It's definitely invigorating.

    Sweet wishes,
    Sara

  24. I can totally understand him!! What a bike!!But I have to admit I didn´t know that John Deere made bikes, tractors yes but not bikes :-)
Good that he bought a new helmet too! My helmets has saved my scull from being cracked several times.
    Have a great day now!
    Christer.

  29. Mornin' sweet lady...

Girl, I'm just tickled pink that your Howard found this GRAND John Deere bike!!! It's a real beauty and he's just adorable in his new bike helmet!!! Wow...I sure hope that I'm as healthy and fit at his age...BRAVO!!! Ohhh, who am I kidding...I'm not that healthy or fit at my present age of 53! Sheesh! This fibromyalgia stuff really beats me up! But...I'm just sooo happy for this great treasure find!!!

My friend, I sure did enjoy your note that you left on my Vegas post! Hehe...you're too cute...wished we lived closer...I'd be having you teach me some of those great dances! Hehe!!! Rock on...sweet lady!!! I also wanted to thank you for all of your sweet notes lately...and especially for your prayers for my grandsons Seth and Bud! I sure do appreciate that...thank you so much, Mona!!! That just means sooo much to me!!! They are monitoring Seth now...the Dr. outfitted him with a portable EKG monitor for the next 21 days. Since they were unable to reach the effected area of his little heart, I guess they will "regroup" and decide what will be best for him after they do this 21 days of monitoring. Please do continue to keep him in your prayers!!!

Well Darlin', you and honey have a fabulous weekend! Thank you again!!!

    Love ya,
    Chari @Happy To Design

PS...you mentioned that my honey only looked about 25...he's just a babe at the age of 42! Hehe!!! I sure do love that man!!!
