~JUST PRACTICING...~
Thank you to Susan from BETWEEN NAPS ON THE PORCH for this enjoyable event. Sorry..but this is something that has brought out the best of Tablescapers...so what am I doing here? Ya got me! LOL
It's early..but I just thought I would practice a bit. My Fall things are not even unpacked..so I used the newer things I have just bought and what I had stored in the house.
Yep.they are blurry. To use the larger photo's you most definitely need a good camera..however...
...this will just have to do. Below is a sweet little pumpkin tea set from my daughter, Mary, when she first got married. She knows what pleases me and makes me smile...and she decorates like I do.
She did say I needed a bit of updating...and sort of suggested I use fresh flowers instead of silks..but..I won't. At best I will mix them. If I grew them..I would use them.
The placemats are from Pier 1 Imports. They are heavy felt pumpkins. I thought they were so cute. I also found the sweet Fall leaf napkins rings there. Usually I am too late..but this year...I started looking early!
The little metal haunted house is from Victoria Trading Post I think. It came with a light but I ended up using a tea candle. The other didn't show up.
I love my Blue Willow china with the orange placemats. This was fun to put together...and it seems that the Fall/Halloween things get used such a short time.
I will put the Halloween away until October but the rest stays out.
So...Tablescape Thursday...here I come! (Sorta. I'm beginning to understand that this sort of thing takes one heck of a lot of stuff..not to mention practice!) But it's so much fun!
I hope some of you come up with new Fall idea's for decorating. I am so ready for a change! It is 102 in Riverside, California right now.
Happy Tablescaping and lots of love!
Mona

Hi Mona,
ReplyDeleteI think your really good at this, I have always loved your style so much! I love the lacy crochet tablecloth with the blue china and orange placemats, it makes such a nice contrast. The haunted mansion is such a perfect touch too! Its going to feel like fall this weekend in Wisc. with highs in only the upper 60's! Yikes where's my summer? Hugs, Cindy
Hi Mona! You did a GREAT job on your tablescape! Really! I love that you are getting us ready for pumpkins and fall. I am actually do fall silk floral arrangements right now getting ready for my autumn show. You tell your daugther that faux is just fine! ;)

Oh, I can't wait until fall, and your beautiful table has really gotten me in the mood even more! I would have never thought of combining the blue willow with the fall hues of orange and yellow, but it's absolutely stunning! Fantastic job! Happy TT to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Mona!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think you did pretty darn good for it being "Just practice." Your tablescape looks wonderful and very inviting. So when's dinner? (he he he he he)
Patricia :o)

ReplyDeleteYour creativity never ceases to amaze me. I really wish some of it would rub off on me but so far.....uh uh, nothin. I'll keep trying.

I love the unusual combination of
blue willow and fall colors.....
You see with the eye of an artist !
Your buddy,
True Blue Villa
Wonderful tablescape Mona. My kids would love it. Fun but not too scary. I know it's still hot but it's hard not to start thinking fall when the new stuff hits the stores so early.
ReplyDeleteDawn
The Blue Willow against the orange really pops! Lovely table. You are definitely ready for fall!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you at Hyacinth For The Soul for some rooster fun and a toast to Julia Child.
I wish we were having the signs of fall. I thought of you today when I saw how hot it was out your way. I'm in the SGV and the fire is just putting ash and smoke on is. blah!
ReplyDeleteStay cool!
Lovin' it all Mona Girl!
ReplyDeleteSWEET SWEET SWEET! Now...can you come do my house? I'm busy sewing and painting and I'm not sure I can squeeze it all in.
I knew you wouldn't mind!
Thank you!
Love, Rebecca *wink*
I think you might be a tablescape shark!--this looks like an old pro to me! I love your china and all the pumpkins! I think there is a yearning for fall in all of Blogland!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for fall! Love your tablescape Mona, and glad you're feeling well enough to blog.
ReplyDeleteYou gave me the want toos. Now I have to climb in the attic and get out my fall things. Hope I am invited to dinner so I can sit at the beautiful table.
ReplyDeleteYes, the fall mood is definitely beginning to take over. August in Oklahoma is usually scorching hot but we've been so lucky and it's only in the 80s for the next 7 days. I think I need a pumpkin. :)
ReplyDeleteHow fitting this gorgeous tablescape is with the sharp nip in the Ozarks air this morning. I love, love, love that pumpkin tea pot. How very inviting it all looks. God has blessed you with a very special talent. I personally enjoy fall but HATE the realization that a hard winter follows. We get so many ice storms which make everything hard. It is not unusual for us to loose electricity 7-10 days at a time. Right now I'm going to enjoy this summer day and go mow my green acre of lawn. Have a wonderfully blessed day beautiful lady.
ReplyDeleteMona -- this is a beautiful "taste" of Fall in your tablescape -- You've certainly created a fun trip to the pumpkin patch. The blue is a perfect compliment to the orange - I do love how you've put this all together -- and if this is just "practice" - can't wait for the full production!
ReplyDeleteMorning, Mona! Oh, what a cute table all ready for fall. I wish I could feel some fall, but not yet. It's still in the high 90s here! Shoot!
ReplyDeleteLove your pumpkins and the haunted house! Just want you to know...I ain't afraid 'o no ghosts! :)
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)d
Oh goodness gracious Mona, I knew this year was floating by, but I honestly hadn't thought about Halloween yet. It's a great table and I love your pumpkin placemats.
ReplyDeleteHappy Twirls
You have a bit warmer than us today, we reached 72 :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Your table scaping, but especially the pumpkin set! I´ve seen something similar in shops here and they wren´t cheap :-)
Have a great day now!
Christer.
Very fallish! Your so right about the blue willow and orange, looks fabulous together! Such a welcoming post today! Think I'll look again! Lori
ReplyDeleteHi Mona! Now I just recently posted about summer coming to an end.. much to my chagrin! )0; But to come here and see THIS, cheers me right up again, as we begin the Fall season! Love all the beautiful pumpkins and gold napkins, and the haunted house too!! I am so glad I stopped here today! (o: ~tina
ReplyDeleteLove it!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Brought back memories of fall in Pennsylvania some years back. Kind of made me nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for some changes too. I love fall. I love Halloween. It is just such a fun time of the year. You have some really cute things there.
ReplyDeleteCool--I really enjoyed that!! I love those placemats (hey, I have some of those same dishes--)That haunted house looks so nice with all of those pumpkins...fun fun!
ReplyDeleteps. I have several blogs--the one for my tablescape is the spindle cottage one;
Mona, I really like your blue willow pattern of dishes. They look nice w/the bittersweet orange color of the placemats and the pumpkins.
ReplyDeletehugs, Sue
It is cooler at night and early morning and getting to the high
ReplyDelete80's and low 90's here in West Texas. I am NOT, however, ready for fall. Don't much like it..don't care for fall colors and have very very few decorations. BAH HUMBUG !! :o) Actually, we do have some pretty fall days and they are really nice. I just never got around to getting many decorations...I decorate a lot for Christmas but that is about it for me.
You, on the other hand, have some GREAT fall decorations. Wish I did..guess I'd better start looking.
hugs, bj
I couldn't leave without looking at your tablescape! Great job! I really like those placemats!
ReplyDeleteIt's still hot here in FL too, I won't be doing fall for a while!
Katherine
I love pumpkins too, not necessarily jack-o-lanterns though. I must say I love your Willow dishes with the orange. Very pretty. I'm starting to change to fall too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great peek at all the fall decor to come...my favourite! I love your pumpkin tea set and would love to have those felt pumpkin placemats...they are perfect!

As always, Mona, your tablescape is lovely. Have a lovely weekend. TTFN ~ Marydon
