Baby Mele showing her true colors! I cried when I looked this up and posted it. That's Frank, my second husband who's old sweats she is trying hard to shred. She was a gift from him for Christmas. Thus the name..."Mele Kalikimuka." I hope I got that spelled right. Its been a long time since I have written it out. She is registered under that name. It means Merry Christmas in Hawaiian.

And Mele today trying out my new wicker furniture on the patio... At times like this I wish I had the stretch minima so you could see her lovely coat better. It drags the ground..and takes brushing at least every other day. In the mornings she comes in all damp from the morning dew. I love her!

I am so proud of her coat...I think I have "coat envy"

I added a couple of wicker chairs, a little table and an umbrella that was on sale at PierI Imports.
I brought out my little rooster lamp for a bit of soft evening light...wrapped the swing in a more Fall like quilt...and I'm just getting started...

Notice the little hanging froggie? He bounces on and on and on when you pull him... :) A bit of whimsy.

Changing things for Fall. In California we can sit out here all year long. I will add a couple of lap robes...some hot chocolate or a mug of coffee..and we are all set.
Oh...and the fire pit. But..that's for LATE Fall use...if we are lucky! I also have East Coast envy!

I guess I am a little melancholy tonight..I get like that when I go through and look at pictures. I don't think grieving ever ends...not really.
It was a beautiful day again today. Perfect weather. Howard weeded and I clipped and played with the patio. I'm happy. I really am. Just lots going on right now. :) Fall is on it's favorite time is just around the corner..and I can feel the joy when I think about it. Can't you? Of course you can! So...bring on the candy corn...I'm ready!!

Many hugs and lots of love to you...

I love fall too! I enjoyed seeing that precious little fur ball - beautiful coat! I would love to have such a nice porch for welcoming each season. Enjoy!

Fall is my absolute favorite season but I'm sure we won't see it for quite some time in eastern NC. Our nights are still in the 70s which actually isn't bad at all. Although our days are in the high 80s, believe me, we'll see more high 90s before September is over!

I was just discussing with my husband over coffee this morning that the leaves would soon be turning here in KC. So thanks for the nudge to get my porch looking a little more fall like. Your sweet puppy is beautiful.

Love the wicker chairs and table... also saw them at Pier One... sure do love their sales. I too love the fall and being on my front porch. Best time of the year as far as I'm concerned and can't wait for it to arrive.

Yes, I too think grieving goes on forever. Still miss my dad who passed on nine years ago. Always makes me heave a little sigh when I think of him and how funny he was to be around.

Hugs to you, Mona. May all arrive in your world soon. *smiles*

Mele is the absolute sweetest. I have a bad case of Mona's porch envy. It looks so cozy and the perfect spot to spend an afternoon with a good book, sipping on a hot chocolate. Fall is my favorite time of year, too, but I certainly can't complain about this summer, so much is still blooming and lush.

What acute little one, Mele is. Beautiful coat. Glad to hear you are coming along better. You had lots of friends worried that care deeply for you, Mona.

Memories never leave one ... ours are with us daily.

TY for your popping over. Yes, true deep friendships are forged forever from the heart ... we are blessed with lasting friendships forever.

I would like to find some wicker chairs to have outside too, but they are rather expensive over here. But is there anything more comfortable to sit in? There´s the problem where to have them at winter though, I have so little space to put things away in over winter.

My morning has been rather interesting today with a visit to the vet. No not Erna, she is still fine! But everything cxame out fine after the vet visit :-)
Have a great day now!

Mona...your patio is charming and so inviting! You are so lucky that you can enjoy it all year round. I too love the change of seasons we have in the northeast but, I know in a few more months we are housebound. It's especially hard this year because our spring and summer have been so wet...which has made us spend even more time indoors. Oh well. I'm hoping for a beautiful fall like we are normally use to!! We'll see. Your dog is so pretty! I love her name. One of my favorite Christmas songs!

Can I come sit with you on your lovely patio? We have the same red and white checked quilt! Loving all of your wicker. You Mele is adorable. What kind of dog is she?

Hi Mona! Your porch and your pup are both amazing! I'd love to sit on that porch and hold that sweet puppy in my lap. :)

Sometimes looking at pictures makes me feel melancholy too. It makes you realize how quickly time flies...especially when I look at pictures of my boys.

Looking forward to fall here too. It's been an unusually wet summer here so it has been very nice. We are usually in extreme heat.

Just lovely, Mona! I can see your perfect little nest, with your family all cozy in that beautiful spot, enjoying their coffee and cocoa and each other's company.

Sweet, sweet doggie.

Your place is just like a show room. It has a wonderful cozy at home feeling to it and even on your patio.

Your little girl is darling. She was a little ball of fur when you first got her. So sweet!

We have been super blessed with our weather lately. Yet I'm with you and so ready for fall.

Big hugs.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and sharing. I am sure we could have a good conversation because we do have so much in common! I can tell the phrase from Dirty Dancing, "Nobody outs Baby in a corner." would apply to either one of us!

I love your little Mele. She is so beautiful. I am trying to grow out Little Buddy's coat into a subdued Lhasa, but he does need to be brushed every other day. He is okay once you get started, but he hides if he sees the brush. When he is done he is quite proud of himself. Your little porch is so lovely. Your beautiful post touched my heart today.

Mona, I cannot wait for cooler weather, the falling leaves, the patio heater, and of course- football!!
Your wicker looks so nice and inviting on your back patio with your quilt to keep you cozy. Your Mele has a beautiful coat! Does she shed a lot? Hope you're doing okay. Don't eat too much candy corn...

Oh Mona,
You write such touching posts!! I love your patio, you have made it such a charming little get-away! Your doggie is so beautiful and yes I have coat envy too! It already feels like autumn here. Last night it got down into the 40's and that is ridiculous for August. Today will be in the mid-seventies which is nice but below where we should be. I know, I know, everyone with horribly hot weather would love it! Hugs, Cindy

Mele is so sweet and your porch rocks.

I started in about 10 days ago to jump back into the blogging pool after a really crazy summer. I divided all my blogging friends into "blog teams" and thought I would just visit one team each day of the week and I got through about three days and my hard drive died and now that I have a new one I lost all my teams and had to start working on new ones. I hope to being posting next week if the end of the front room remodel goes well. It has been so crazy here in the desert. I have really missed blogging.

Hmmm, I am thinking you wouldn't have East Coast envy if you could feel the humidity we have had along with hot temps for the last week. I have an even bigger case of West Coast, perhaps PNW, envy than ever.

I'm so ready for Fall...ready for change. Your patio looks so inviting. I love the way you have positioned that umbrella and it gives me an idea to work with for my little porch. I've got an absolutely rotten doggie neighbor in back that has just about barked my joy right out for my space back there. Maybe if I blocked the space more...hummm....I hope that you are having a good Sunday sweet friend!

We don't get much of a full-fledged fall season here, but I'm yearning for cooler weather. In Texas it gets mighty hot. I love your little space outside.

Aw...your little Pomerainian is so cute. It looks like she's posing for you when you snapped this pic of her. How sweet. I just love your patio and your new wicker furniture. Everything looks so inviting. Our summer here in Michigan has been one of the cooler ones we've had. So I don't want autumn to come. But it is right around the corner. Have a good day!

Beautiful place to stop and have a cup of tea. I'm just imagining how all that gorgeous fabric would look after our first ice storm here in the Ozark hills and hollors. LOL Love the dogie, it could have been in a Breck girl ad. Ya'll have a blessed day!
