~CHRISTMAS CLUTTER ~

I took a few pictures in the kitchen..not the most interesting place..but it's cozy..there are little red stools to sit on, all painted with cherries on the seats..which you have probably seen if you have visited me very often.

This is the little island in my kitchen..right across from the stove.  HANDY!
Not a big kitchen but looked much bigger before I put in the island.

I think I put candy canes in about every container that would hold them..
This is my jam jar but since I have two ..well..more candy canes!

This is the bottom of my kitchen lamp over the sink...and... my GIANT candy canes.
There is just something about candy canes..isn't there?
What?  The stripes?  What?!  WHAT??!

My favorite little coffee pot...No clue where I got this ..but I've had it ...forever..

I know..I know...clutter, clutter...
Makes me feel..good.  Probably something deep in my childhood.  :)

No end to the clutter in our household..but it's sort of organized clutter.  Does that count??
Well...does it?  (be nice :)

Today I finished the outside Christmas tree...to the big pine cones I added berries from the back yard, AND all those interesting branches I've been saving in a container on the patio..
Looks cute..at least it does to me..but probably just more clutter to some.

WAIT!!!

I've got the answer...it's in my DNA!!  I probably have a cluttered DNA!
:)
Peace and love~
Mona

  1. Your house is not cluttered. It's decorated. That's my take and I'm sticking to it. I love decorating with candy canes too. We are sisters at heart. Love all your Christmas things in the kitchen.

  2. As long as I'm not the one having to dust it all...I love all of your beautiful treasures, Mona...your home is a treasure trove and is such a wonderful, interesting, happy place to visit! What you do, is magical! If I were to visit in person, I'd spend hours admiring and taking in all the details, enjoying all the stories behind each of the pieces so lovingly and carefully displayed! It's beautiful!

Candy canes definitely are a charmer and I love to use them in my kitchen decor at Christmas every chance I get. I even love peppermint scented candles. 8. Mona, We just like toooooo many things. LOL. I call is contained clutter when it's clean and not messy. Some times I fear of going too far. :) When you want to declutter, please send me the coffeepot. LOL. I love to see what you have on your counters. I have craziness at times. Our bread box holds snacks not bread. Bless your sweet heart, xoxo,Susie

  10. Your house is perfect. It is like a trip down memory lane. It reminds me of going to Santa's Village in the Big Bear Area when I was a kid. I'm sure you will always be the memory of Christmas for your family.

    1. Awww...you are so sweet. Now I feel better..but..it really IS a lot of clutter, however like you, I'm comfortable with it as long as it's organized. Cold, clear counters, devoid of anything is upsetting to me. We are all so different and yet so alike, yet for those that have clean, neat uncluttered kitchens..it is comfortable to them. To each his own, I say. :) I love looking at other people homes. It says so much about them.

  13. It's comforting to surround yourself with things that make you happy and your collections are beautiful and so festive! I love that Santa in the last pic...I collect them but lately I've been giving them away to any of my kiddos who want some...but usually I find a way to buy a new one each year! I guess that doesn't help to make it less cluttered in my collection does it! Merry Christmas..almost here!

  22. Hi Mona...ah so...its your cluttered DNA! Well..that answers a lot of questions! Your house is so welcoming...and so cheery...warm...inviting...I could spend all day there enjoying looking at every treasure you have displayed.Nothing more loved than glass ornaments and the older the better. The Mission is very beautiful too...and I can see why you would love to be there. Have a good evening!
