..that don't bother me at all...
smokin' cigarette's and watchin' Captain Kangaroo,
now don't tell me...
I've nothin' to do...
Now..don't tell me...
I've nothin' to do...
:)
That song keeps popping into my head lately and I've NO idea why!!
BIG HUGS!
Mona
P. S. Does that song date me or what? The 1970' or was it the 60's? Oh, and I've never smoked in my life. :)
Such a lovely room! Everything looks so comfortable. Love the wallpaper.
ReplyDeletepretty room Mona! Love the tray too... I need one of those! I dont think Ive ever said I have nothing to do! LOL!
ReplyDeletehave a great day my friend
xoxo

A lady I met years ago on ebay painted the little bed tray for me. I had a beautiful unusual wicker one...then my daughter saw it!! :)
DeleteNever had any desire to smoke either. Guess I should count my lucky stars, but truth be known, it was my Dad's influence. He detested the habit and even in the '50's, when it was the fashionable thing to do, he would not allow anyone to smoke in our car or home and especially nowhere near either my sister or me when we were babies and during our childhood.
ReplyDeleteNow, on to your gorgeous guest room...it looks wonderful and I cannot see anything wrong with the choice of wallpaper. I don't see anything skew in the sweet pattern of rose posies. It's perfectly delightful and I would LOVE to be a guest, staying in that room. It looks so intimate, cosy, comfortable and personable and I can only imagine having the sweetest dreams in such lovely surroundings! I would step inside and ooh and aah with joy and feel honoured and privileged to be shown such charming and thoughtful hospitality! Truly!!
Now, take a break! You have worked a miracle in your home since you first moved into it. It is absolutely lovely, both inside and out and deserves to be enjoyed fully! You deserve it! I know you will keep wanting to tweak things, because that's what you love to do, but it really is perfect just as it is right now, do anything else you do should be purely for your own enjoyment and not because you feel it needs any improvement. I could get completely lost wandering around inside and outside, taking it all in. There is so much to see and enjoy!
Hi Des, I wrote you a letter.. :)
DeleteHa! That song is from 1965/1966 by The Statler Brothers and I remember it well even though I was only in grade school at the time. Back then the radio was so popular and family shows on TV. Probably saw it performed on the Ed Sullivan Show or Johnny Carson on a Friday night when we were allowed to stay up late. I find musical memories to be quite strong and they usually evoke some pretty great memories too. xox
ReplyDeleteYou be SO darned smart, Di! :) LIke you and many of us, music connects us to our past memories, hopefully good ones.
DeleteFirst, a thank you!!!! For asking excellent questions, in my Troll post. And giving me the opportunity, to give more info, on the topic.
ReplyDelete.
By replying to your comments, right on my blog.

Thank you!!!!!!

Hooray!!! Beautiful new Banner picture, at top of your blog. And it is nice and wide, too. :-)))))
ReplyDeleteTessa
I'm learning, thanks to you! :)
DeleteBeautiful again. Lovely and peaceful and calm and softly pretty... Like a bedroom should be. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd you know, we both love roses.
Don't recognize that song... It was probably out, when I was 'out straight,' taking care of 3 babies, born closely together. -grin-
I didn't smoke but I watched a lot of "Capt. Kangaroo" with my kids. I loved that program. And "Kookla, Fran and Ollie"... They produced gentle kid's tv, in the olden days. :-)))
Thank you for sweet memories.
Tessa

I had a big family ...and Captain Kangeroo was a daily visitor in our home too. The song..I had music on all day every day. :)
DeleteI remember that song. The bedroom is as lovely as the living room. Take a rest now and enjoy the fruits of your labor and paper hangers work. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteMona its me again. I wanted to tell you how much I like your new header but I forgot to in my previous comment. Madeline
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Madeline!
DeleteOh my goodness you have so much STUFF! All your rooms crammed FULL of clutter - so glad I don't have to dust at your house!
ReplyDeleteI love my "stuff" and "clutter" and enjoy dusting it. You see, a lot of my "stuff" was gifts from my loving family and friends and a constant reminder of those who care about me. A very honest comment, I'm sure, and you are not alone in how you feel. :)
DeleteGoodness, "Anonymous," I hope you didn't intend your comment to sound as rude as it did. "Clutter" is a bit harsh, I think, especially for a home so obviously loved.
DeleteOh my goodness . . . how could you have anything but sweet dreams in that charming bedroom. It is wonderful:) The wallpaper is so pretty, as well as the bedding.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
Hi Connie! The spread is an old vintage one I found on ebay. I haven't had one of those since the 1950's. I'm glad you like it.
DeleteThank you.
Your home is blooming with love and pretties in every room! Looks like a wonderful room to sleep in or just lay back and enjoy the garden atmosphere...very you! I think the livingroom looks great too! I'm assuming you now can sit back and enjoy it and relax! Thanks for sharing and opening your home up to us!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine. No cigarettes, but how about watching Captain Kangaroo? I loved Mr. Green Jeans. That is my idea of a cozy, lovely room.
ReplyDeleteHi Mona! Your new header is lovely - I'm swooning over the floral bowl. Your guests are very lucky to have such a beautiful and cozy retreat. You've been busy! Awesome song choice, too - fun Statler Brothers tune. Jane
ReplyDeleteMona, lovely new header and finished rooms. The wallpaper pattern really suits you as your decorating style is warm and comfy. And, too bad thay Ray didn't have a better sense of humor...his loss.
ReplyDeleteHey There Chickee - lovely new banner - you always have something pretty there at the top. Your rooms look so cozy and full of love. As I said before, I love the wallpaper and have the same in my bedroom, except in yellow. Now that tune is stuck in my head.....I am singing it right now ha,ha and YES, I remember all the words. Maybe PH n I could sing that tune together and you could video it. I am sure we would have a great laugh. lol
ReplyDelete..and he would do it! He loves to sing!
DeleteOh my, the perfect room to dream and feel romanced in. It is so gorgeous Mona, any one would feel so enveloped in love and warmth in that room. You have worked your fingers to the bone. Now sit back and enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHugs Kay
Thank you so much, Kay. This is the first time in my life that I've had a pretty little guest room for family and friends who visit. It's nice.
DeleteOoohh does that bring back the memories! One of my favorite songs from my young days! Statler brothers right?
ReplyDeleteYou are right! I was surprised that I still remember the song. Like many others, music is connected to the times of my life.
DeletePs your home is lovely and i love the pretty new banner too!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I am enjoying taking pictures around the house and seeing how they look as banners. Tessa taught me. :)
DeleteSo very YOU and very "purdy!"
