~SWEET DREAMS BEDROOM~

Well, here it is..all done.   Nothing to scream about..I know..but it's comfy..

White flannel sheets and a down comforter.
The boxes hold my scarves and small accessories that I don't use often.
The tray is hand painted by Bea.  A wonderful ebay artist that I have known for years.
Our home is full of her hand painted things..along with my own.
I like her's better! :)

See those pictures on the wall...nothing unusual...but there is a recent story about them.
I've mulled over whether I should share or not..and so far the answer has been "probably not!" :)
Really an odd story.

See my new silk Laura Ashley chalk pink lampshades?  Yeah!  I'm happy with them.

Mirrored closet doors...I don't like them.  I would rather have louvered folding doors so you can see everything in your closet at once.  But..they are nice.  Not complaining.

I love the way the paper makes everything ...prettier.
But, that's just me.  I know, I'm on a major paper kick..and one day (if I live long enough) and want it down, I will kick myself?  NOT!   I do not think I will ever tire of it and besides..paper hangers also take it all down.  Yep...they sure do!  ( in a slight, very slight panic, I asked!)  :)

The other end of the room.  I love the way the paper makes everything look better.  The furniture is by Bob Timberlake.  I loved it because it reminded me of a mountain cabin.  Some drawers are lined with cedar..for sweaters.

So...tell me you like it...I mean even if you don't.  Please say you do.
I'm SO insecure!1
Love,
Mona

  14. Like sleeping in a rose garden. Its beautiful and everything is so well coordinated. The best thing is that it shows us another side of Mona, the kind hearted romantic that still believes in magic. You are a treasure.

  16. BUT!!!!

    Insecure!?!

You must let this insecurity go!!!!

If not, I tell ya' Honey-Bun, I am going to hop on my broom and fly over there, and "whoppppp you". No more of this insecurity.

It takes Joy away. It makes you feel "smaller" and "unsure" in your own decisions. It does not make you Happy.

P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!!!! Do what makes you happy. And never look back.

    P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!!!!

    P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!!!!

  17. Your bedroom looks beautiful, Mona...a perfectly English, country-cottage creation, filled with roses, ribbon, lace, gorgeous wall paper and the prettiest of pretty decor items, all carefully selected and displayed with impeccable style. I love your dresser! It makes a wonderful statement and has so much character, if that's the right word. Your new bedside lamps are quietly elegant and lovely and co-ordinate well with the whole, soft look! Just so very peaceful! Exactly as Sherry says, "it's like sleeping in a rose garden!" I cannot imagine ever having bad dreams surrounded by such loveliness.

You are a natural when it comes to decorating and styling, Mona...you never have cause to feel "insecure!" When I caught sight of the first image you posted, it reminded me so much of those gorgeous photographs we see in glossy Country & Home style magazines. Your bedroom could comfortably grace those pages. You have such a romantic, loving spirit and it shows in this gorgeous room. Thank you so much for inviting us in to enjoy it all.

If you change your mind and decide you'll share the story of those two framed paintings on your wall, I'll be all ears. My curiosity has been adequately piqued.

  20. Yes that's my sort of room too. It's very feminine and pretty. Does your husband sleep in there too? I love wallpaper and have it all over the house except in the lounge.I'm outnumbered on the male side here. Just perfect m'dear!

  22. Desiree..Tess is definitely a treasure..so are you. :) I have to smile because my friends love me. All of you..every single one of you that have commented..you mean the world to me. I've grown to love all of you. Each of you are so different..from different parts of the U.S. and from all over the world. We have all been blessed with each other. Just a fact!

  23. Love it sweet friend. The older I get the more I'm focused on what makes me happy...not everyone else. Our kitchen remodel is coming to an end (finally) and I thought "Oh gosh...what if everyone hates it!" Then I realized my hubby has nearly killed himself to make MY DREAMS COME TRUE...not the worlds. So...if I'm happy that's enough.

    Missing your <3...so beautiful.

  24. This is absolutely charming, Sweetpea---so welcoming and serene. All the sweet muted colours, and that gorgeous paper, not asserting itself, but like a well-mannered beau at the ball, just making the other pieces shine in all their glory.

Just my kind of place---romantic and floral and PINK, but everything subtle and sweet.

And I seem to be a kitchen-twin to REBECCA, just above---our kitchen renovation has been going on since 1917, it seems, with everything strewn in boxes and lugs and bags to trip over, and no part of it scheduled to come along just after the thing before it---there's always a week's wait or getting on the schedule for the next bit.

And Chris has worked like mad, even though we specified "we tell you what we want and pay, and you tend to things." He's had to keep on top of all the crews and scheduling and making sure, because one group certainly doesn't know when or what the last one did. But I love what's been done so far---all Sweet-N-Low packet pink and bright white, and just what I've wanted since my dollhouse dreams of childhood.

Must get back to my chores---guests coming for a week on Saturday, and no countertops nor sink nor running water, though the store had promised completion by last week of May. Thank goodness for Caro's kitchen upstairs. We have lovely things planned, with good friends to be with, and all will be well as possible. Looking forward.

    love and,

    rachel

  25. Mona, your decorating talents are beyond words because you make everything look inviting. My personal style is not to use wallpaper and maybe that's because we removed much old wallpaper from our VA home and now living in an apt have no need of wallpaper. We have even decided not to both with repainting the walls here. But, I do enjoy seeing how you transform a room and make it your own! Kudos to you and please no need to feel insecure. If it pleases you, than that's enough, dear friend.
