I left my berries up all year and right on through to Christmas. Red still rules. Now I am leaving them up through Winter.
I have this thing about little houses. I know I am probably ready for change, but I like some things just as they are. So...until Easter...they will stay.
No...the truth is, I am just plain lazy since the Christmas cleanup.
I think when I do change things in Spring, my rooster and hen will come down off their high perch.
If I could I would get rid of that 1960's ceiling. Awful stuff.
Maybe some day...
These little pillows on the sofa table in our family room are from Sweet Dreams Cottage. Becky makes the dearest things. I always bring them out after Christmas...
I put out my wreath on the front door. I had wanted a big heart wreath but so far I haven't been able to find the one I wanted so my old one will do...then I found the wreath I want..but it was at Penny's Vintage Home. :) It was right there hanging on her wall. Now I am on the lookout for one as close to her's as I can find, but I don't think it's going to happen very soon.
I love hearts so it's fun to get started decorating for Valentines Day. These seasonal holidays come and go so quickly..
Does anyone else have this feeling of trying to hang onto each day?
Not sure why I am feeling this way. I'm sure it will pass. It's an odd feeling and not a familiar one.
My love to you..enjoy your day,
:)
Mona
Mona you leave me for dead with your beautiful decorating. I wish I had your energy for decorating for valentines day. At the very most I might make a heart pillow for a bear to hold.
ReplyDeleteLOve, love, love that wreath you have on your door.
Hugs
i don't know what the version of bah humbug for valentines day is but i guess i have it. i never decorate for valentines day anymore. i used to do so much when my kids were little. i am sure i will bake something special though!
ReplyDeleteI must have "bah humbug for Valentine's Day" too . . . I think some fresh flowers and baking some cookies will be my limit. (I did see a cute heart shaped wreath on a post someone did. Looked easy peasy,)
ReplyDeletethe little houses are cute and my mom would have loved them and all your roosters and hens. i have the same ceiling you do and wish it were gone
ReplyDeleteMona If they have a Dollar Tree store in your area try there I found large heart wreaths in the one that is near me. I will leave my snowmen up until the end of January then will decorate for Valentine's day. Have a blessed day. Madeline
ReplyDeleteI love your little houses and your roosters, Mona! I have some big ceramic roosters that I have had put away for a while...seeing yours makes me think that I might just get them back out! I think it is so cute that you refer to your hubby as PH (patient husband?) I refer to mine as H ...most think it is short for hubby, but it is actually short for Howard. Wish we lived closer, I would make you one of those heart wreaths like mine...hugs, Penny
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty and sweet. You reminded me too that Becky hasn't posted in a long time.
ReplyDeleteLove your rooster and hen...that is the perfect spot for them, Mona.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
I live with that feeling every day....but really, shouldn't we want to live every to it's fullest? Even before I got sick, I cry every time I pack up a holiday box. But then there is the joy next year of seeing it all again!
ReplyDeleteI have seen rose heart wreaths, I just can't remember where. It might have been Homegoods.
What cute houses, they are perfect for any time of year. Love your wreath and hope you find a heart shaped one you like. Enjoy your week my friend!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks very pretty, Mona. I love all the reds...Christine
ReplyDeleteEverything looks very pretty, Mona. I love all the reds...Christine
ReplyDeleteYes, I try to hold on to each day! With my Granddaughter's graduation coming in May and College after that, I am praying that time SLOWS down... Love the heart wreath, the houses and the red berries! If you love something, keep it out until you wanna put it away:) Hugs to you sweet Mona!
ReplyDeleteI haven't put up the Valentines things yet, so I'll just enjoy yours for now! I love the red berries..I still have mine up too. We need a bit of cheery red during the cold of winter..atleast here in Ohio! Have a good weekend and hold on to each day..they are all precious!
ReplyDeleteI love the pops of red you have left up. They are wonderful for winter. You just gave me an idea for my front door though. When you said heart-shaped wreath- I remember that I have a heart shaped basket that is flat and would make a perfect background piece for the wreath. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure if my email got to you so I thought I had better come and thank you for your kindness, still nothing has come back, i have lost everything, not sure what I will do, its all a bit much!
ReplyDeleteLove your chickens and the little houses, and that little faux violet in the teacup. Everything at your house looks so pretty and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for being a little nerve wracked by the earthquakes. Every once in a while we have small tremblers here. They mostly just shake the windows (and my glass stuff in the windows). I suppose that every place has some kind of drawback. I fear the tornadoes that seem to have really increased around our area in the past few years.
Hope you find your perfect wreath soon.
Your house is so adorable, Mona...and I love that YOU love all holidays.:)
ReplyDeleteHaha IF i were rich I would redo my kitchen in chickens and roosters! They are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI also love Valentine's and your wreathe - it is so very pretty.

Mona, while I do not decorate for Hearts Day, as I prefer to call it, I do so enjoy seeing and easing about your lovely decorations. I am still celebrating the Christmas season as out little prelit tree and the holiday cards are still on display to cheer me every day and evening. You are so right about the holidays being rushed by. I spotted Easter candy on display in one store near Valentine's candy and holiday discounted items. Why do folks seem to want to have these days go so fast...retailing is to blame, I know.
