~MY SWAN SONG IS APPROACHING...~

Hi...it's just me. :)   I am still unable to post photo's and I have tried everything, including writing to blogger.  I've asked if I needed to pay for more space..and if so, tell me how to do that.
They sent me some directions but they are to the things I have already tried.  Dragging and dropping here..and tried through picasa but that didn't work.  I did get one old photo to show up but if you look at my earlier post..the picture has now disappeared.
So..what next?
I am not sure.
Not at all interesting without pictures, so I am thinking of cashing it in..trying to get my blog printed and move on.  I will miss all of you something terrible.  I've put off doing that...but it's become so stressful that it's beginning to not worth it.
Thank you for all the help you attempted to give me.  You sweet people are wonderful.
My only hope now is that blogger does something to help.
I will keep visiting.

Love,
Mona

  2. Oh Mona, No I always look through my blogs and open yours first, because it usually gives me a smile or food for thought. I can understand how frustrating it must be. Have you any family that can help.
Any one listening or reading HELP MONA.
Love you heaps and I will be so sorry not to read your lovely posts.
With your writing skills have you thought of just writing. I do follow a couple of blogs that are just writing.
    Warm Hugs

  3. Dear Sweet Mona, I miss your posts. I took my computer to Staples and they worked on it N/C the only thing I had to pay for was for more space. Did a great job. It's just a thought maybe they can help you or put you on the right track. If you have a teenage grandchild they can probably figure it right away. They really know the computers.
Hope you get it fixed - miss you.

  4. Mona -
I feel so badly for you & the technicals issue you have spent so much time trying to fix with no resolution. Since the purpose of your blog is not to add more stress to your life, maybe you should take a short break or until you are ready to get some professional assistance to figure out why you cannot post your photos. Personally, not be a techy person at all, there have been a few times where I have surrendered & paid a reasonable amount to have someone else fix the problem for me. The longer I worked to try and solve the problem the more aggravating it became. I find no shame in taking my laptop over to Staples or the Geek Squad driving to my place.
You have done everything you can and if you don't know anyone who is computer savy, then it might be time to call upon a professional who actually enjoys resolving computer problems (as crazy as that sounds). I would gladly help with the cost as reading your blog is something I enjoy doing and I don't want to see you ready to shut the blog down out of frustration. I am sure some of your other blogland friends would gladly help you get this technical problem resolved so we can continue seeing your latest decorating, gardening, garage sale finds and inspiration. Hiring someone to identify & fix the problem will save your sanity and keep you connected to your blogging friends. Please don't stop blogging because you are unable to fix the problem yourself.
STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER! Do spend the rest of the week & weekend doing things that have nothing to do with the PC. When your blood pressure has returned to normal, seek the services of a Geek Squad type person or a private computer consultant who may charge less per hour.
My offer to help resolve the problem stands. Just put out a post if you could use some help to cover the cost of getting someone who is computer savy to look at the issue & resolve the problem.
Enjoy the rest of your week not thinking about the blog/computer & have a great weekend. The weather is supposed to continue being a beautiful Fall on the West Coast.

  5. I hope you can find a way to overcome this problem. I wish I had the technical knowledge to be of help. Your posts are always so enjoyable. Hopefully things will come together so you can start posting your pictures again, but I believe I would enjoy your writings even without photos.

  6. Now Mona...don't give up. Your posts bring so much joy to all of us. I so miss reading your blog! This happened to me and Blogger told me to go to html to upload images. This worked! When you begin to compose a new post, there is a tab at the top of the page...next to "compose", which is "html"...try this and see if it will allow you to upload your pics....here's hoping and we MISS YOU!!!

  7. Ellen in Oregon is right on the ball. I would help to, if you need help financially. I do believe though, because you are not asking the young fellow family member to help out, you don't like to ask for help. OK, then, do as Ellen says, take the week off, eat lots of fav foods and take PH shopping to sales. Then, next week, take the darn computer to a shop, whichever one you may have used or go to Staples or computer Geek. When you are not real computer savvy, it is like getting bit by a mosquite right on the rump, itchy as hell to get rid of a bumpy little problem. Well then, after our phone call and seeing as you are still frustrated with these problems, call in the big guns if your nephew or grandson or family cannot help. Wish I lived closer and I, for another one truly miss your adventures - you have this great gift to entertain others with your writing - I really do miss it. lol Lilly
p.s. Hoping we haven't heard the last of you just yet - the best is yet to come :)

  9. Mona, do you see the tear that just dropped on my computer? It is because you say you are leaving, yes it is, I was wondering if maybe you just did a different blog and tried it that way? You know where you can find me so please keep in touch and let me know when you or if you get a different blog page.

  10. DON'T LEAVE US MONA! Just check back later! Take a little break and perhaps it will get all fixed! Have you tried using a different computer to load pics? Love you too much to let you go!

  11. Dear Mona - I totally understand your frustration since I have so much trouble understanding technology myself, but I (and so many others) would be so sad if we couldn't read your blog. It would be like losing a dear friend! I do hope you can find someone to help you (I've gotten some help from the library before - maybe that's not possible in this case, but worth a try). I hope you find a solution and can visit with us again before long. In the meantime, you've gotten some good advice about taking the weekend to let it go and do fun things for yourself. Hang in there! Hugs- Rhonda

  12. Hi Mona..I will be sad if you stop doing your blog. Can you not find some friend to help you sort this thing out? I am afraid I am technically challenged and have thought about doing a blog but never have. Your blog is so nice to read and even tho we have never met I feel as if I know you. I would miss you! I do hope you can work it out but I understand if you are tired of it.

  14. I wish you would like posting without pictures. I have no idea what to suggest. I just hate this. I read everyone comments and they all - including me - love you and your blog so much. None of the kids can fix it either? Love, sandie

  15. Have your children or grandkids been there to help you with this? Surely someone can solve this issue for you to get you going on your blog again. :(

  16. Dear Ellen...how I wish I had an email address for you so I could thank you for your so very caring answser by email. Most of my precious blogging friends have a place I can go to answer them, so I hope, hope, hope you come back and read this.

I had not thought of taking my computer in or having the "geek squad" come out for a task like this..but now I might do just that.
:):) And thank you so much for your sweet offer to help pay for such a thing. I am fine..and I have money to pay..but how KIND of you to offer. Money is not an issue..but I am just so overcome with love for you to even offer to help! Such amazing folks out there in blogland. I am so grateful to have you in my life!
I shall call someone..starting with Staples and see what they say.
THANK YOU, Ellen In Oregon! What a dear lady you are!
    Love,
    Mona

  17. Mona, I know you'll get this figured out. All the suggestions here are good but I want you to know I'd read your blog even without pics! We all love you! Take a step back, rest, and enjoy your weekend!

  18. Well, I tried to update mine because it expires on the 21st...and it would not do anything either. I hope you will get this figured out.

  19. I sure hope you figure something out soon. I miss your sweet smiling face and fun posts. Take care and have a wonderful weekend my friend!

  20. Move to WorPress, I haven' had any problems with putting photographs in my blog since I moved there (well except for when it was my computer that was the problem :-) ) and very few other problems as well.

It's a bit tricky in the beginning until one gets used to how things work on WprdPress but after that it's so much better! Just leave a link to Your new place here so everyone can follow you.

    Have a great day!
    Christer.

  22. Mona, add my name to the list of those blogger friends who would sorely miss reading your blog. Admittedly, I am also clueless as to a solution to your current situation. I recently changed our blog template and none of the features work in Blogger as far as being able to change font size, colors, etc. so dear friend, the problems may be the product (Blogger). Christer made a good suggestion to start a new blog and link back to the old one. Failing that, perhaps starting anew with an entirely new one either on Blogger or Wordpress might be a better alternative...a clean slate is sometimes the best way to go.
As you can read, dear Mona, you have a legion of friends in cyberspace and in the real world as well.

  23. I don't post much but I read your blog every day. You are loved by many and we want you to continue BUT without stress. I know about stress. LOL
    Sending you ((((((hugs)))))))))))

  24. I was going to suggest a whole new blog. I don't think that you would even have to change from blogger. Experiment sometime when you have time...it couldn't hurt. Just go with the simple template on blogger and put a picture for your header and let it go at that. Don't try to make any complicating changes.Make it very simple. I
I've had no trouble with posting pictures.I haven't bought anymore space or anything.I've had a few issues from time to time, none that couldn't be handled.
Watch, now I'll have trouble with all this bragging. Just give it a try...we'll be waiting for our favorite blogger...Balisha ((hugs))

  25. I believe you will have to pay for storage. That happened to me. My pictures disappeared. I paid...they appeared. Then I used my own computer for storage with an external hard drive.

  26. Oh No! The thought of not being able to see your wonderful posts makes me ILL! I am not an expert at all in blogging...but I experimented and I think this will work for you. Go to Photobucket and open a free account. Upload the pictures you want to use to Photobucket. In your blog, when you go to insert a picture..instead of "choose file" from your computer...look to the left and choose from a "url". In Photobucket, click on the picture you want to insert, and on the right, you'll see choices of urls. Click on the one that says "DIRECT"...that's the direct url to connect your picture to your blog. When you click on that url, it automatically copies it (you'll see copied in yellow when you click). Then go back to your blog and paste in that code in the window that popped up to post a pic from a url. It should then show in your blog. Make sure your pop up blocker is not on.

  27. Of course, you have to "save selected"...forgot to mention that.
