...sometimes come from Mele. She loves to lay out on the cool grass in the morning and watch me play with the flowers, still in my pj's. Clipping here and there..while I sip my coffee..
I watch her and it suddenly occurred to me that I haven't done that in years..and years..
In fact...not since I was a teenager.
I think one day soon I am going to join her out there on that shady grass where it's cool and just a bit damp. I'll watch the clouds and wonder where the years have gone.
THEN, I'll try to get up!
Lovn'hugs,
Mona
Oh, that sounds like fun, it's just too hot here, can't be outside even in the morning for very long. Your yard looks fabulous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! I have not done that in years either.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking about all the shapes clouds would be and how many animals one could see in the clouds. Also, the stars at night, laying on the beach, listening to the waves. Aah, the good olde days - wait a minute, I still like to do that :) Have a great evening - sooooo much fun in the parade yesterday before all the bikes left town :) I think there were approx 270 bikes in the parade and yes, I was one of them :)
ReplyDeleteoooPs, Hi to PH :)
ReplyDeleteGetting down to that level gets you closer to some of the Great Miracles---the love and trust in the eyes of children and other little beings who love and depend on you.
ReplyDeleteThe "getting up" part made me burst out in a cackle that sent Sweetpea asking for the joke---try explaining THAT to a five-year-old.
Right NOW, it's the getting DOWN that I'm having to practice. Chris built by hand a new shell/ stand/support/rail system for our new waterbed (had to go clean to Kentucky to get all the mattress stuff). And, since he hears me gasp sometimes as I straighten up in the morning, his thought was that we might just need a higher bed, in order to get out of it easier in our coming years.
NOW he had to build us each a step on our side, cause the bed's the most comfortable bed of my entire life, but it's so tall the DISMOUNT was difficult.
love and,
rachel
I love hanging out in the shade on an old sheet with dogs...of course, they are on the grass sprawled out! I laughed when I got to getting up!!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteHa! Oh yes....the getting up is the tricky part.
ReplyDeleteyour yard is wonderful! i see brick paths and a gazebo! what a wonderful spot you have!
ReplyDeleteMy darling Mona, just make sure you have a chair handy to lean on to get up.
ReplyDeleteWhen the grandies come the deal is if I get down they have to pull me up. We usually laugh so much we are all like a bowl of jelly.
Hugs
Your yard is so amazingly beautiful, who wouldn't want to hunker down in that grass and just enjoy the view?! I would come and join you but I'd be afraid that if I sat there long enough somebody (not saying who)would plant a fairy garden on me! Hehe!
ReplyDeleteHi Mona! Oh, that sounds like a great idea! I used to do that as a little girl but now I'm afraid of the bugs! ;)
ReplyDeleteMele is so cute.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Beautiful Mona . . . I think you should set a day, a time . . . and invite us to stretch out on our sod . . . look up . . . and reflect . . . and see how many let you know they are joining in. (I will join in . . . not sure if my bones will let me get back up though!)
ReplyDeleteAmen! Thanks for reminding me too of that simple pleasure!
ReplyDeleteTaking time to feel the grass and watch the clouds in very important. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI think Lynne is on to something. Knowing that we are all looking at the sky at he same time from our lawns where ever we are is a great idea. I can get up from my lawn, but it's not pretty..., but I haven't done it in a very long time.
ReplyDeleteIS her hair pink? I think you will have to make yours pink too - then go on the grass and roll around. lol sandie
ReplyDeleteMele is such a cutie ... love her personality. Great idea ... sometimes I do this, also.
ReplyDeleteSo good to chat with you, Mona. Love hearing your voice. Wish we were closer to enjoy, share & laugh together more often.
TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon
Mona that sounds good but here in the sunny south lying in the grass will give you a lovely case of chiggers! Nasty little red bugs that make a very itchy bump. I always envy those who can sit in the grass and not worry about those little nasties. Go ahead and do it...have a chair close by to help you get up! LOL!

ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me of the simple pleasures that we forget about as adults. I used to love going out in the back yard, hanging a blanket over the clothes line to make a tent where I could hangout. I'm sure Mele would love to have your company down at her level. You may not be able to stay down there for long & you may need a chair to help get you back up, but you'll never regret missing the chance to relive a simple pleasure.
I love the way you think Girl!
Mona, I had to laugh. It is great to lie down in the grass but that getting up part is a bear. Glad to see that you are doing well. I haven't visited in a while. My Best, Penny
ReplyDeleteYou made me smile today, THANKS.
ReplyDeleteYou made me think about lying in the grass with my childhood friend...looking up at the clouds and imagining that we saw images. Since I moved to Florida, lying in the grass could be dangerous...biting ants and all kinds of stinging things could be lurking there. So, I think I'll pass. I would probably need a crane to get up again anyway LOL
ReplyDeleteYes that was the best and rolling down hills:)
ReplyDeletexo
That sounds lovely Mona. Watching the shapes in the clouds and being thankful for the days we have here. Oh rolling down hills was always the best but know besides getting up I would be too dizzy to walk...
ReplyDeleteI may just head out in the a.m. tomorrow and see whats up. Hugs, Pam
O, I never could lay on just the grass...would itch to death...but we always put a blanket down and cloud-watched. I did it with my kids..then the grands...
ReplyDeleteDear Mona...I love that you've never fully grown up....and I hope you never do...(seems like we had this conversation before...??:)
Love you, bj
Sounds like fun..I'll join you, and then we can help each other get up. LOL
ReplyDeletebeautiful grass and i love the shadows from the sun... a peaceful spot to start the day with coffee...
