Since I wasn't able to do much, I spent some time online looking for a burlap runner. I have been having a difficult time finding just the right one and I've found they can be pretty pricy. I finally found one I loved..and a bit more..
I finally found this lovely burlap runner that lays so flat on the table that a delicate wine glass will not tip if sat on the edge!
The ruffle is made of Chiffon and it's beautiful..
I will not try to wash this. I will send it to the cleaners.
I want it to last and am not taking any chances of it getting ruined by me.
All garage sale finds here..even the silk flowers..not the tea set though. (the ivy's are real)
I have not been able to get out and shop for candles..so..I'm still in the process of trying things out.
My beautiful runner was only $19.00! I could not believe the price and how beautifully made it was!
I am SO pleased!
The same nice lady that sold me the runner, also was selling matching ties for the backs of chairs.
I loved that..at only $4.00 each.. :)
I just put this flower in to give you an idea of how cute it could be with silk ivy or some white daisies! The possibilities are endless. Christmas even..
I'm happy I bought them.
I am going to join Marty for
Table Top
Tuesday..on Tuesday of course! :)
Ok? So..what do you think?
This computer shopping thing ..can be dangerous but soooo nice.
Buncha hugs!
Mona
What a bargain hunter you are. The runner is so up to date with fashion and looks terrific.Don't tell me those daffs are silk. Your table top looks terrific.

Kay
Hi Kay! Yes they are silks. I love them and have had them for some time now. They get packed away in late summer, or sooner.
DeleteThe table needs work..but I was in such a rush to show you the runner... :)
Keepin' up with the Jones. Abby and I need to do a post.
How beautiful! The ruffles on the runner are really sweet - as are the chair ties. I'm sure that's a great price. There are so many options out there if one has $$ to spend!
ReplyDeleteExactly! I didn't have money to spend like so many of them wanted. Some of the runners ran over $50 and even higher...and they were not even that nice. I love what I finally found.
DeleteHi Mona,
ReplyDeleteI love your runner! And that's a good price for it too! Your table looks so pretty..right now I have that same watering can as my centerpiece on my table. lol..we have very similar tastes~
And I am envious of all the great plants you found at garage sales! It's been so warm here this past week...highs in the low 80's!! Amazing for Wisconsin in March.
We broke records almost every single day!
Well I hope all is going well for you and the hubby!
Hugs friend,
Cindy
Oh - where did you buy that? It is gorgeous - just perfect! A lovely Spring table indeed
ReplyDeleteI bought it on Etsy. I don't push products on my blog but if you want the link, please email me at Wsprsweetly@aol.com and I will quickly send it to you! :)
DeleteLooks beautiful Mona. Love the ruffled edges and the chair ties.

Sissie
Thanks Sissie!!
DeleteThose daffodils are silk??? Wow, could'a fooled me!!!
ReplyDeleteSweetie, your table looks marvelous and that burlap runner is to die for!!! Sooooo with the nineteen smackaroos you laid down for it! I adore those chair ties...girl your gonna have fun with those. The possibilities are endless for sure!
Spring truly hit the holler this weekend. Both my Bradford Pears and Redbuds are in bloom.
Looks like you've really been takin' it easy....(said in my most sarcastic voice). Please take care, you are precious to us.
God bless and have a great week beautiful Mona!!! :o)
LOL You are so sweet. The table was not really decorated..just sat some stuff on it preparing to do SOMETHING and not sure what. Daughter sat the candle stick on the table..no candle..lol Oh well..no one cares, not really... :)
DeleteBeautiful. You certainly are a creative designer. (o:

That runner is lovely. I have never seen one with a chiffon ruffle!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny...I hadn't seen one like it before either and the contrast between the rough burlap and the lovely soft chiffon was something that I was attracted to immediately. :)
DeleteI love it, Mona! Especially the chiffon ruffled edge...and I like that it is thinner than most of them. Liking the chair ties-what a good price! Online shopping can be VERY dangerous- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love it Mona. The ruffles makes it look so light and pretty. It is amazing that things always come back around in style. I remember when burlap was a fad years ago. I liked it then too, well maybe not the wallpapers so much. LOL! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteOh good heavens! You are right..back in the 70's or 60's..the WALLPAPER! I never did it. Didn't like it but loved wall paper..just not burlap on my walls. :) But I have seen it.
DeleteLove it; especially your flowers on your chairs.
ReplyDeleteRita
Rita.. :) the flower on the chair was the one thing I would not use..maybe daisies...but the flower I used is a wee too big for my taste! :)
DeleteLovely Easter pretties Mona. All garage sales? My goodness, you do do well. I've never seen chair backs like that before, except at a wedding! My dining chairs are exactly the same as yours. Now let me see, what have I in the cupboard that I could use???
ReplyDeleteLovely post, as always. I love going shopping with you!
Hi Star..yes, I also have seen ties on chairs at weddings, but I am having an Easter party here at my home for dinner..and I wanted it to look nice. Will use these on other occassions too. Weddings..no. I would tie with the Chiffon perhaps..not the burlap. :)
DeleteHi Mona, hope you feel better soon. Love the runner and was wondering if you don't mind sharing the seller. Love your blog, Lucy
ReplyDeleteI love watching other people spend money and I love watching you put it all together into something very pretty! Your finds look good too. I'm just getting ready to put out all my Easter things and you are my inspiration! Have a great week Mona!
ReplyDeleteI love watching other spend it and spent most of life doing just that. Now it's my turn..not much to spend, but boy is it fun to find something and be able to get it. 25 cents is usually where I draw the line but will go higher in a pinch. Burlap was something I wanted...gotta keep up with the Jones's you know! LOL
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Mona.
ReplyDeleteI've not done a 'scape with mine yet but will, soon.
OK, now get ready for something else I just bought....you probably gonna want one, too. :)))))
Oh,dingy dang it bj!! You are going to be the ruination of me yet!! LOL
DeleteI don't think there is any doubt that I will want one of whatever it is you bought!! :):)
Mona, Your runner with its chiffon edge has to be my favorite of any I've seen online! The fabric just is so light and ethereal- unlike the heavier material that most people use when they make them. You got a good deal on it, too. You must share your dealer with me! I'll be waiting to hear from ya! hugs, Sue
ReplyDeleteI've sent the link to you. I'm so pleased you liked it.
DeleteWhat a lovely blog! I love the burlap runner! I have some burlap fabric and hope to make some pillows with lace trim. The ruffles on your table runner really make it special:). I look forward to visiting again soon! Thanks for your kind comments on my blog:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Kim
Dear Kim, I believe I found you on Gloria's blog "Happy to Be"..and hurried over to take a peek. I love Victorian decor and your home certainly did not disappoin. Thank you so much for your return visit!
DeleteHi Mona! Oh, I love your pretty runner and the ruffles are gorgeous. So happy for you that you found what you wanted! I have to tell you I love the vignette of your pretties! So pretty! I know! I remember when you found your Rooster lamp! I was just amazed you found the mate! :) I just love him and I'm sure you love yours too.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Burlap and chiffon---the juxtaposition of sturdy and delicate makes a lovely piece of art.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Chair Ties---you just DO BEAT ALL. I do well to get some lovely old square fabric samples put down over the Play-Doh and crayon crumbs on some of the chairs.
Many happy occasions with your new acquisitions, Sweetpea!
rachel
