~ROAMY'S CALIFORNIA VACATION FIASCO...~

Dear Bloggers,
I don't want to say that Mona is a bad hostess...however...lets just say we have had better times?

It was hot, 110 degree's, every single day...so we paused by the fountain to cool off a bit.  I fell in!  Baby fell in! Mom fell in, but she finally snapped this um...photo of us...
Needless to say, we cooled off!!

We rode in Mona's purse to the garage sales (which are NOT exactly what we expected to do) and..
she forgot us! Left her purse AND us in the car!
Now, I TELL you...is that polite??

Yes!  I SEE  THE BLASTED PALM TREE!
That's...it???  No...I like palm tree's.  Honest!!

There was a work crew in the back yard laying the new flagstone patio...I offered to help...but they said "that's ok....we're doing fine."
Friendly sort, her Grandson, Eian.
I admit it did cross my mind about that wheelbarrow of cement being so CLOSE to me!

HEY FELLA'S??!!  A little to the right with that last stone?

Piglet stopped by for a spot of tea.  Was that nice or what??  :)
You know, if I had to listen to Piglet for very long I think his little voice would drive me a wee crazy!!

Mona apologizes for not posting about us..she kept meaning to...but the days just flew.
She gave Mom this lovely necklace to try and make up for her bad manners.

Also painted the tippy top of her hat where it had gotten scuffed pretty bad.
She added tiny angel to keep us safe on our journey.
We leave in the morning...and let us hope our next hostess is ....more accomadating?

Off we go in the morning...
Much love,
Roamy and family

  2. Roamy, you're leaving? But...but...but...who are you? Where did you come from? Do you like teddy bears? I am a teddy bear - Prudence Clearwater and I have my own Blog and we have a contest going on and...and...and...gee, golly, I would have loved to have made friends with you.

Ya know, Miss Mona would be a very nice lady to live with. She is kind, sweet, a wonderful friend and she has Mele, who is a sweet puppy dog. And Mr. Howard - he is so kind and is always helping Miss Mona with things that she wants to change around her home.

Did you meet Abby? Did you know that we are related?

Don't leave, please stay there. PLEASE?

    Heaps of Hugs

  4. Cute post, Mona! Hope all is well on your side of the country. Have a great weekend...actually I am wishing it away, starting Sunday it is supposed to cool down into the 70's and 80's for our daily highs.

  6. Hi Mona...

Ahhh...what a sweet post, my friend! I just giggled and giggled! Your trio of guests are quite the family...so cute!

Well dear friend, it looks like you are keeping busy at your place. I love your new stone walkway..it's gorgeous! I sure would love to do something like that at my place. Just wanted to come by to say hello! I sure enjoyed your visit the other day. So sorry that I'm just now getting by. This summer has been so busy and I'm afraid that my visiting and blogging has suffered! Sure do hope that my note finds you and your sweet family all doing well!

Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, Sweetie!

    Love ya,
    Chari

  11. What a lovely story (oops! sorry if I've denigrated your rather stressful experience with Mona to the realm of fiction and fantasy!) I really enjoyed seeing her world through your eyes and the paving was looking marvellous, even before it was completely finished. I hope Mona will show us the finished pathway!

  12. Well, I have to say, I wondered where in the hell Roamy had gone to!! Thought maybe he had been swallowed up by the earthquake in Virginia or the Hurricane along the East Coast. Glad to hear he is fine and look forward to hearing from him again VERY soon!!

  13. How clever and exciting a tale you weave!! No wonder your little stories are so much fun.

But I can't believe that Roamy is such an ungrateful guest as to call our Mona "bad mannered!" The VERY idea! He's usually such a nice fellow.

He'd better watch his own manners, or his future accommodations may be at Motel FOUR.

  14. Mona, it's always nice to have friends come for a visit. We're across the country visiting family and friends in NJ, our home state.

  15. Ah..but Rachel...he was exactly right. You do not have guests come for a visit and then let things sidetrack you and forget your poor guests while they sit in a little box on your desk. *hanging head in shame here* :)
You must not blame him...I WAS terrible!
Hugs for wanting to stick up for me. I do NOT deserve it! :)
