This is the second day that I cannot download any photo's. The window appears but it is blank and when it has shown that I can post a photo, it won't complete the download and a message appears and says I have to send them money. That I have run out of space for photo's.
So....clicked on the link they provided in the download window and filled out the form and sent them $5.00 for the year. I came back but they still gave me the message so I gave up and decided to check that evening.
Still no luck. Same message.
Two days have passed and now only the blank window appears...and never changes. Once it appears that I could download a photo, but then the message asking for payment appeared again. ???
Is anyone else being asked to pay?
I really never download tons of photo's...so perhaps someone else out there has paid...
I really don't think I should pay twice...???
The message is as follows:
"Whoops! You're out of space! You are useing 100% of your GB quota for photo's. Purchase more storage. (this shows as a link)
Photo's are stored in your Picasa Web Albums account and are included in your 1GB free quota for photos. Additona storage you purchase is shared between Gmail, Picasa Web Albums, and Google Docs, and is in addition to your free quota. Learn more. (this shows as a link also.)
Ok...now the words "Purchase more storage" is highlighted as a link. So is "Learn more" showing as a link.
I followed the link and paid them for more storage even though I don't really understand at all what they are talking about. I do not have Gmail, and am not really sure about Picasa Web Albums, or Google Docs. None of that means anything to me.
So...any ideas? Please?
Hugs,
Mona
Hello Mona,
ReplyDeleteI paid $5 for more space a couple of days ago. Although it says it may take up to 24 hours, I was able to proceed as normal within about 12 hours. When I made my payment, I received an "Order Receipt from Google" email as well as an "Upgrade to Google Paid Storage" email. Did you receive either of those? If so, then contact them through the links provided in the "Order Receipt from Google" email. I hope this helps. If you need the links, let me know.

Hey Mona,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I'll get that right out to ya!!! ha ha
I just became a follower! Later today I will come back and explore!!
As far as the photos I can't help you. I have a Mac and I download straight from my camera to iphoto.
Can you contact them and ask why the are charging you again?
You PAY to download your pictures?
ReplyDeleteNo way would I pay!
I just hook up my camera and down load into a file or scan a picture into a file and then transfer to my blog.
Right now I am trying to learn how to use my new HP Photosmart Plus. It should take my memory card and put it into a file on my computer. I say should because I haven't been able to figure out how to do it as yet.

I also download my pictures from my camera's memory card into my Photos and this works for me; Good luck Mona; I love all love all your great photos.
ReplyDeleteRita
I download my photos from my camera to my Coral Paint Shop pro and upload to blogger from there. I don't use Picassa or any of the photo sites to store my photos.
ReplyDeleteWish I could help...
Hi Mona,
ReplyDeleteWell, I do pay for the extra storage so that I can have more space. I also pay for more storage on Flickr, too. Even though you upload from your camera, there is only so much space allowed for Picasa. I also use Windows Live to do my posts on and then upload them to blogger. It is a cool tool and you can edit your photos there and make them larger than blogger will allow you to do.

I personally have not yet run out of space on Blogger, but I know several who have. And yes, they pay for more space. Really, just a few dollars is not too much considering I have been blogging for about 5 years now! So...when they do let me know, I will just fork over the money. I think it is likely that it would take up to 24 hours to acknowledge your pmt. Don't give up!!!
ReplyDeleteI use Picasa to upload my pics but I do have knowledge of those who have used up all their 'free' space on Blogger picture storage. They say their usually up and back in business within the 24 hour range so hang in there sweet gal.
ReplyDeleteGod bless and have a terrific day my friend! :o)
Hi Sweet Friend,
ReplyDeleteHm, I guess I haven't been Blogging long enough to have used my quota of photos.
This "charge" is all new to me, I have never heard of this from my Blog friends.
Hugs
Joyce
Yes I had to pay. Even though I download my photos to another site, whenever someone adds a photo to blogger it is also stored on Picasa. Once you use up your free storage, you can either go in and remove those photos (though if you do that, they also are removed from your blog) or you can pay to get more storage.
ReplyDeleteI never knew it was done like this until I ran out of space. However, while I was upset at first, my computer had crashed awhile ago and I thought I lost all my photos. Then I noticed a lot of them were on Picasa so I was happy.
I have never reached that level that I have to pay extra, but I know this happens after a while. I wish I could explain this in english in a good way but when You download the photo in to Your computer You can make it smaller so it contains less data.
ReplyDeleteYou won´t see the difference Yourself though, but You can have ten of those photos to get to the same amount of data as a normal photo.
But I suggest that You wait another day to see if they have gotten Your money so You can download more photos in to Your blog.
Everyone that has a blog and download photos from their computer or phone sooner or later reaches that roof, so this is nothing strange.
You can also start a new blog with much the same name and link to that from this one.
Hope everything gets ok!
Christer.
I received the same message after just over a month of blogging! I asked my son to see what the problem was. He said I had not resized my pictures before uploading them to my blog and that I'd therefore used up my free cap. He was able to access them for me from Picassa and resized the lot. It was fairly timeconsuming and I have no idea what he did, but it worked and I was then able to continue without paying anything. I now ensure I resize all my pictures to small. This means they cannot be enlarged, but they are adequately sized, as such, once they're uploaded to my blog. Eventually I will run out of free pace, too and will need to pay.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you're able to sort out the issue you are having, Mona. I'm sorry I'm not able to help resolve your problem :(
I personally have not had to deal with this yet, so sorry I am of no help. Laurie @ Bargain Hunting (and chatting) with Laurie, just dealt with having to pay for more space. Saw her post earlier today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
I just went to my Picasa acct. and there are pics in there that were deleted long ago, but they are still there taking up space, and there are some that have multiples of the same pic??
ReplyDeleteI need to check further. :(
Have you tried photobucket.com you can upload to there and it is free...it is true if you upload pics from your computer or where to your blog it uses up the space in Picasa...
ReplyDeleteWish I could help you but Harold does what Kt said ... I wouldn't have a clue. Sherry uses photobucket.com all the time & loves it, I can't even do that by myself ...
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely Valentine's you had ... 'sweet' as can be.
TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon
