~SHORT POSTS ARE GREAT TOO~

Sometimes short posts are great...like today.  So much going on, lots of chores to do..so many great blogs to visit..and of course dinner to cook...so....
I am going to join, for the first time, Sue at  It's A Very Cherry World.  Just seems like the thing to do.  If you love red, it's the place to be...

THIS is my very favorite pot to cook in.  I love it so much that it pretty much stays on top of my stove all the time.  My daughter, Erin, gave it to me for Christmas several years ago...and I use it constantly.  I had wanted one for a long time and she surprised me with it..and of course she knows how much I love red...
She gave me a very Cherry Merry Christmas that year.

It's such a great pot for Fall cooking..soups, stews...everything that speaks of cooler days...and falling leaves...
You know?  Of course you do!  You are getting to know all about me and things that make me smile.

Aren't daughters wonderful?
Love and hugs,
Mona
p.s. Don't forget ..today is the last day to sign up for the October Birthday giveaway...look below!  I am also throwning is a little surprise for Halloween....

  2. Dear Mona,

I read your profile story. I shake my head when I read that you had so many tribulations in life. I am glad you are now able to fill life is good again.

Only yesterday, I had a quiet cry in my heart. It was my late son's 21st.

    Thank you for visiting me.

Your red casserole pot, is it the French one? I was given a similar one, when i went to a shop today to check if I could use it on the stove top, I saw that it is is over $499, and made in France.

I think mine is a made in China imitation.

  8. I love your CHEER all the time, Mona---you make the skies BLUE!

Your pot's twin lives on my shelf-beside-the-big-ole-black-stove, a gift from Caro several years ago. And the temperatures today say that I just MIGHT be going to put that great big Corned Beef from the fridge in to simmer all afternoon, and put in some little carrots, potatoes and cabbage for the last thirty minutes.

Wouldn't THAT be a great Fall Night Supper, on a platter with maybe some spoonbread and pickles on the side?

I think you have the cheeriest kitchen I know!

  12. Oh I love your wonderful red pot. I think everyone should have a favorite one. I love to have a pot on the stove simmering with a pot roast or stew and the smell just drifts throughout the whole house. Smells so good and makes everything feel like home. Enjoy your fabulous pot. Hugs, Marty

  13. Hi there! Thanks for coming by. I do hope you get to plant tomatoes next year! I love your red pot. Red makes me SO happy, I think a red pot like that would make me happy each time I cooked dinner. :-) Take care!

Thank you so much for asking about Andrew. He was born with a campomelic syndrome which was fatal. They told us he was going to die that night, but he lived for 55 days. Sept 29th was his birthday, Nov 22 is his anniversary. I have moved on, I share my experience with people to help them if they have lost a child.

  16. I'm glad to see you cook on gas. I have cooked on both over my life-time but I get the best results with gas. Your cooking pot looks very 'cosy' and warm with its rich, red colour. I bet there's something delicious inside it?
    Blessings, Star

  17. Hi Mona. Short and sweet is never a bad thing. The red pot looks good, so what is for supper, and what time should I be over? Have a great day.
