~AN OLD LADY CRYING JAG.....~

My wonderful grandson married a lovely Columbian girl...and this is the gift they gave me! Now...if only I could catch her!! She is my 18th grandchild and her name is "Emily." We are all so in love with this child! Me? I am in love with all 18 of them. A new one will be here late this Spring...and that will make 19. None are his..or mine. All nineteen come from one single marriage. Makes me smile! :) How I wish their Grandpa could see them. I think he does!

See that blurred little hand...this child was MOVING!! :)
Oops! What's that she has in her little hand?! HELP!!!

I don't think a happier Grandma exists! Well, ok...I can almost hear the Grandma's out there exclaiming how "beautiful!!" their's are! I thought being a Grandmother was wonderful..but it just gets better and better. Being a GREAT is fantastic!
I need to slow down and hugs the little "greats" before they too are grown.
I hate to admit this..but I think I am on edge of an "old lady crying jag!"

Hugs...
Mona

  19. I only have ONE little granddaughter. She gets all my attention. What in the world will happen when I have more than just her?

Enough love to go around...just like adding one more child. The heart grows to accommodate every new addition to the family.

    Sweet Post!

  25. Mona, thank you for stopping by my blog. We do have an international thread in common... our grandbabies!
Yours is Columbian-American and mine is Mexican-American. I guess we are doing our part in bringing the world together... right? ;-) Isn't it amazing how at such a young age they know they are hearing two languages. David is about 20 months old, yet he understands his Mexican family (they actually live in Mexico)perfectly as well as the American family. He isn't really talking much yet, but I am sure that is due to sorting out two languages. Carmen, the almost 6 year old, did the same thing. Our son only speaks English to the children (occasionally in Spanish if it's something truly important) and his wife speaks mostly Spanish to them. The nanny only speaks Spanish though. When our son brought his wife, mother-in-law and daughter up here for his wife to have David (they came six weeks before the due date), they put Carmen in a Christian nursery school. She was not very confident speaking English in public. I picked her up at the end of the first school day... and she was speaking English to the friends she had already made! Her school in Mexico focuses on English.. and she is the leading student due to the advantages she has had being exposed to so much English. This will pay off dearly someday. Hopefully she will come to the U.S. for college. Her mother went to school in England to learn English.
This is lengthy, but we have a unique kinship.
    Hugs to you!
