~NO IDEA WHY I DO THIS...NONE~

It's 2am and my feet are cold, my juice is gone and the aspirin has had it's effect and I need to get some sleep! Why on earth I do this I do not know. Age? I won't even go there! Ok..I'll go there! They say you do this as you get older....but "they" say a lot of things! I'll just convince myself that I have so much energy and vitality that I can't turn off my mind at night. HA!

Anyway, while tooling around blogland I came across a cute little blog and discovered it is a FIRST YEAR anniversary...AND a giveaway! The prize was such a thoughtful and sweet cottage collection of goodies that I thought I would give it a bit of a showcase. I mean 3 entry's can't hurt! Right? And..besides..I have already won by making another cute and interesting discovery in this wonderful blog! So...if..you love cottage things..you must visit Cynthia at Cynthia's Cottage Design and enter the giveaway and congratulate Cynthia on a full year of blogging!

Would you just look at the neat cottage goodies? Good luck to all who have chosen to enter.

Here's to a delightful Sunday and a wonderful week ahead!
Love,
Mona

  1. Mona,
I'm up too, although we're on different time zones it's still not morning here. My hormones are out of whack and my teen daughter is stiil out on the town. Yikes~ no wonder I can't sleep ! Thanks for sharing, Cindy

  2. So I'm not the only insomniac in blogland? At least I'm in good company. Isn't Cynthia's Cottage a wonderfull place. She does such a good job of layering in so many things and it looks so lovely. Hope you get to sleep in late when you finally drift off. Try counting sheep...or roosters!

  4. Good morning, Mona..I take not sleeping by spells. I'll sleep great for a few weeks and then have a night that I just can't. So, like you, I head to my computer for a little surfing.
Thanks for the heads up on the wonderful giveaway. It looks like a lot of pretties there. I'll go right over...
Hope you sleep good tonight!! :O)

  8. Back again Mona...
Could be your hormones are the problem.
    Maybe you need some magnesium.
Here are some foods rich in mag.

A glass of milk before bed.

Other foods that have good amounts of magnesium are whole grains, nuts and green leafy vegetables. Green leafy vegetables are a good source of magnesium because the green color is chlorophyll, a chemical that contains magnesium and converts sunlight into food energy.
    It might help.

  9. When I am in my house I can clean the floors at 2AM. When I am in the condo I can't clean floors at 2AM in fear of waking up the neighbors who live under us. Well, it certainly does not stop the lady above us who can't sleep so starts to do her aerobics at 2AM or else she fills up her big tub at that time. So even when we I can sleep the noise wakes me. How do I combat fatigue? I threw my alarm clock out the window:)

  11. Hi Mona---its no wonder you are awake girlfriend! You have the most creative mind, I have trouble keeping up with your blog! But seriously, get yourself a bottle of Melatonin from the natural food section of the grocery store or Health food store. I sleep like a baby with the stuff!

  17. I've had insomnia since I can't remember when I didn't have it. My family claims since I was about 8. It's hard when your up and the rest of the world sleeps or vice versa. Reading is the only thing one can do or maybe some cross stitch but you might bug eyes at the our of the night/morning.

Enjoy your visits to blog land.

  18. Smart Mouth broad...Thanks, Sweetheart! But...I think age might be a factor...and also..when there is huge family..and lots going on..seems one thing right after another..one tends to try and solve everything once you are still for a moment. I do that! Never works..but I do that!

A Stitch In Thyme....I never did the all night thing until after the children were born. I became a light sleeper due to the babes.
Maybe it is a hold over from that..but I'm not sure. Just...stuff..you know?

  21. Hello Mona, it,s Kathleen--cottonreel--lovely to have you visit ,it,s 7 am here,sunny,I have been up since 5 .
About this eating,I also have my very bad habits, I love pork dripping on toast . My mother is 97, never has eat salad , never drank milk except in tea, she used to have an egg every day for her breakfast, has only ever ate peas as a veg, and green beans when in season, and potatoes. I,m wary of saying this , she has fallen often but never broken any bones. Touch wood .

  22. Dos Gatos....Hello Stepdaughter! :) How nice to see you! Yep...I do get a lot done in the wee hours of the morning..but it is usually on the computer...
Usually your Dad wanders in and looks at me quizzically. He always thinks I must be sick. :)
NOW he is beginning to learn that I am up just because I can't sleep.
